Gilboys Hard Wax Oil - Food Safe Wood Finish - 500ml

Very easy to use with good instructions and the finish is just what I wanted. Sunflower seeds are a nice touch, too !

Fab item and really nice to apply. Dried quickly too. Used on our bannister and gave it three coats and wow I looks beautiful a lovely shiny sheen and feel would highly recommend 5*

Excellent stuff. Dries quickly but not overly so, goes on really well and looks great. Two coats on a mid century dining table and it was good to go. Goes a long way

Alongside the tin of oil there was a lovely handwritten message in the package and a packet of sunflower seeds, to encourage the bees. This product was easy to use, as long as you follow instructions. I would definitely recommend and use again.

Absolutely stunning finish on this elm Ercol table and chairs I have finished restoring. Orbital and hand sanded all of the wood from 80 up to 600 grit before applying danish oil for slight colouration and finally hard wax oil numerous days after danish oil had settled fully. Three coats of hard wax oil has rendered the wood completely water resistant and water beads on the table without any absorption. The finish is really subtle, retaining all of the qualities of the raw wood finish (grain still very much present to touch) whilst providing a nice protective barrier. Apply with gloves so you don’t get sticky fingers. Honestly couldn’t have imagined a better finish and will use this on all restoration projects in the future!

Never used hard wax before but very straightforward, dries quite quickly and gives a nice finish after two or three coats.

The finish is superb and dries and enhances the grain of the wood. Good value for money and a real good smell

Would have rated it 5 stars when I bought 6 months ago - just went to reorder and price has been jacked up by 50%. It’s now on par with fiddes for price and not as good. Shame. Was a great value product 6 months ago.

This is a fantastic product. Very easy application - no streaking or running and it looks great on red oak. Very durable so far but I am getting some of the Gilboy's beeswax for extra protection from water.

A very good finish and protectant, easy to apply and brings out the natural qualities of your wood. A little goes a long way! I have used another brand for years, but this is much better than that.
