Can you use a vacuum sealer on these bags?

These bags are not vacuum sealer compatible. They do not heat seal reliably. You will need to zip tie or band to close.

Can you reuse these bags?

No, the material is not reusable. It is less a “bag” than a membrane. It absorbs the myoglobin coating on the meat surface, and sticks like a sausage casing. When you are done dry aging, it must be peeled away from the meat, and no longer a washable plastic bag. It is a process aid, not a storage medium, like a vacuum bag. Does this answer your question?

Will this work well to dry age venison?

Yes! DryAgePro® works with any meat with dense muscle fibers for dry-aging, such as beef, venison, elk, bison, etc. We've even had customers dry-age reindeer meat, but remember not to go too far with low fat meats. The end product gets tough without intermuscular fat if dry-aged too long, especially compared to a rich, marbled ribeye subprimal.

My bag has a hole in it. Does that mean the meat is bad? There was blood leaking out of the bottom of the bag where the hole was.

The meat will be fine. Drain the remaining purge and seal the hole with a piece of scotch tape. Also, make sure that the meat is out in the main part of the fridge, not in a drawer, and on a wire rack to allow airflow all around the meat. If there's a build up in purge, that means that it's not drying effectively, which is most likely due to either where you're keeping it in the fridge, or a high level of relative humidity.
