Here’s what I like about this M40 tunic: - The wool is a little greener than most of the tunics around. - The wool is a nice tight weave - The buttons are sewn on sturdy -The tunic is sewn together very well. - The hollow back buttons look authentic - I ordered a metric 50 and it fits me like it was Tailored, just for me. And I got well within the allotted time!!! Very Happy!!!

Prior to purchasing this fine tunic, I asked the Amazon community if the epaulets are removeable? I received 5 replies. 2 replies were incorrect...the epaulets are not sewn on and I did not have to alter the tunic in any way. 3 replies were correct, just unbutton them. I am 6', 180 lbs, size 46 was too tight around my chest over a flannel shirt. I returned it and ordered a size 48. The chest of the size 48 is comfortable, but I had to tailor it due to my "athletic" build and had to shorten the sleeves an inch. I highly recommend this tunic.

Came earlier than expected. Jacket looks and feels really good although my picture kind of makes it look weird (I promise you it looks so much better on your actual body rather than when it’s hung up). 10/10 product and the seller’s cool too if you need to ask them about anything. Definitely gonna buy the M40 trousers from them next. If anybody’s looking at reviews for sizing I’m 6’1, 170lbs and I got a size 52 and it’s like perfect form fitting but not too tight at all so it’s perfect for me at least. That’s all boys, God bless 🫡

5’10. 39inch chest. 155 pounds. Purchased size 42. Eu size 52 To begin, in the 70’s I used to collect this stuff, and the M-40 was one of my first tunics. That said, as I now reside in Northern Minnesota, I began perusing again for another wool shirt or heavy fleece jacket, and low and behold, I came across this tunic. For what one gets, it is very utilitarian and cost effective in comparison. I opted to go a size larger, because I wanted to be able to at least get some light fleece underneath tunic, that was a good move. The tunic is not light weight, and for those interested in authenticity, it certainly is much like the original. I like the fact that it has large bellowed lower pockets, as this tunic/jacket will fill very utilitarian requirements working around the place during Autumn and Spring months. The wool seems to be of decent quality, but with an oily type of smell. There exists a custom taper to the waist area, and a slight binding around lower shoulders as I tried it out yesterday, which reinforced my decision to go a size larger. Bottom line, whether one purchases this tunic for work or reenactment: Go a size larger (I’m older, 39 inch chest, ~ 155 pounds), and it fits as I had hoped with light fleece beneath. Construction appears to be solid. A bargain compared to heavy fleece, or wool shirt and won’t burn when burning brush piles. Slight oily smell to the wool. As the original, sleeves are not lined, so if wool makes you itch, you’ll have to wear something beneath with long sleeves Other than synthetic underlayers, I’m moving more toward natural fibers whenever the weather permits, as they breath and one can work outside in natural fibers without the feeling of being inside a plastic bag. Overall, pleasantly surprised.
