I have a Seagate USB 3 drive that just wouldn't work with any cable other than the one it was supplied with, which is about 240mm long. I needed a cable of around 1 metre as there was nowhere to site the drive within the area that the OEM cable would reach. All previous attempts to get the Seagate to work in USB hubs had failed, as had every other USB extension cable that I had purchased (at best, the drive would download a few gig of files, then disconnect itself). As I need as much storage space as I can get, I really needed this drive working properly. In hope & desperation I decided to try this cable. At around a tenner including postage, it was worth the gamble. The cable is very well made, with gold plated connectors. I installed it directly into a USB3 port on a PCI-USB3 4-port expansion card. Previous cables had failed when plugged into this port, but this one works perfectly. It has been seamlessly transferring huge amounts of data for almost a week now, & transfer rates are definitely USB 3 standard. If you're having connection problems with external USB 3 peripherals, this cable could well be a worthwhile investment.

Lost my cable for my external hard drive and at first was hesitant to buy a new one as one I borrowed kept a blue light on the hard drive. As this cable is gold connectors and in the Amazon spring sale for under £5.00 I thought why not. Cable arrived after 2 days but works a treat. Would buy another one if I ever need to.
