If I could give them 10 stars, I would!
These are absolutely perfect for maintaining consistent moisture in a 5 to 7 gallon pot or grow bag. Anything bigger than that, you will need more than one. I bought two sets so far and could not be happier. Water lasts between 3 to 6 days depending on how hot and dry it is outside. Plenty for me to feel good about going away for a long weekend and not worrying about my plants dying. The terra-cotta spikes allow for slow saturation, nice and deep, where the roots are. READ the directions on how to install them, if you don’t put them in right, they will probably break. (Use the stem of an empty wine bottle to “ Pre drill” your hole before putting in the spike and adding the water bottle, bury them up to the designated mark and put them in straight). But if you do it right…. Out of two sets I haven’t lost one yet. Love the simplicity of it and they’re actually quite attractive.

Tomatoes Saved
I bought these for my tomato plants which are producing small fruit. I knew I was going out of town and my plants had withered if not watered daily. I followed the instructions and dug out a spot, put the terra cotta stake directly between three stalks, with a 750ml wine bottle full of water in it (vertically, not tilted as directed). It worked wonderfully! The plants were tall and clearly hydrated with no withering. It watered them well for 4 days and probably has about 2-3 days of water left.I only used one stake in my long planter which was a mistake on my end. The stalks furthest from the terra cotta stake are droopy, so I will make sure to add one there next time.Overall this did exactly what I wanted it to and I have peace of mind my plants will be okay when out of town. I will mostly likely continue to use this as an every day waterer.

Sturdy and helpful for spot watering
Received these just recently and put them in my plants inside and outside where I don’t have drip. Works well to keep plant watered when I am away from home for a few days. Spikes are strong and don’t break when trying to put them in plant.

Perfect
I finally got to use these and I’m excited! I soaked them for a long time before putting them in my planters. None came broken and they felt like a good heavy quality terra cotta. They tuck in nicely in my plants and are so easy to use! My husband drinks a lot of ginger ale so we used green glass bottles that fit nicely and blend in well. We put plastic bottles in a couple others and that’s more obvious and he said it looks like someone threw trash in the planters, so we will switch out the for the green bottles as we get them.

Saving Plants
These are great! I kill potted plants because I forget to water them but with these, even my husband enjoying helping me. But I also have some in the ground. Because of these, my lavender is alive and kicking, my jalapeño plant is pumping out peppers, my Bird of Paradise is coming back and I’ve got Hybiscus cuttings growing. They can be fragile. I broke one when I recklessly dropped a wine bottle in the opening. I have used plastic water bottles, but long neck bottles work best. They arrived fully intact and well packaged, and I introduced my neighbor to them.

Water runs right through, very delicate
Even using a 1 liter bottle sealed with Lexel sealant (no leaks) these spikes would empty in 24 hours. Some might find that useful, but they did not suit my needs. In addition, these particular spikes will break if you jostle them wrong.

Like the Spikes!
Great job shipping a pack of 15 teracotta watering spikes, and none were broken. Tequila bottles fit perfectly; therefore, my summer job is to empty more. Water spreads to about an 8" circumference, which is just right for average planters, so plan two plus for large containers. Right now during spring, I refill my deck flora's spikes about once a week. Their next test is directly in the ground beside six mini roses that struggle in the heat, but I have to go to the liquor store first.

9/10 stars only because I broke a couple trying to put them in my plants.
So far these work pretty good. Having larger bottles in them like wine or champagne bottles work the best. Smaller bottles don’t hold water as long. But I’m happy with my purchase. I broke a couple trying to put them in harder soil. Also, do not try to put them in your plant with the bottle attached, they will break! I would buy them again.
