Dog with allergy
Our Staffie / English Bull Terrier started scratching her belly until she was red raw and had dry skin flakes like dandruff in her fur. Vet suggested food allergy; we switched to the lamb kibble (lamb, because I read on t'intertubes that lamb, rabbit and venison are the least likely to trigger allergy) and stopped feeding all else. Result: rarely scratches now, no rash, and condition of her fur is superb - soft, sleek and glossy. We'll reintroduce other proteins over time and see which one triggers the allergy again. Very pleased with this product. Dog enjoys it.

My dogs love it, so I now have it on Auto-delivery.
I have a 7-year-old Staffy, and a French Bulldog aged 15 months - both of which I’ve owned since they were 12 weeks and 8 weeks old respectively. I’ve never had a problem, foodwise, with the Staffy - but Frenchies are renowned for having allergies and stomach problems. The latter is often due to the fact that they are a brachycephalic breed, having flat faces, short muzzles, pushed-in upper jaws, and narrow nostrils. Because of their facial features they often have problems breathing through their noses. This makes them breathe through their mouth, taking in a lot of air and causing them to have a bloated stomach, which can lead to stomach upsets (diarrhoea and vomiting), and the release of a lot of smelly wind. The Frenchie’s breeder recommended that I kept her on the kibble she’d been weaned onto, but she suddenly decided she didn’t like it. I am a member of a couple of French Bulldog Facebook groups (there are many of them on FB, worldwide) and I have read hundreds of horror stories of problems mostly attributed to food. My Staffy has always had cheap supermarket kibble with a dollop of home cooked food, eggs, or sardines, added for extra nutrients and variety of taste. She, and every dog I’ve ever owned, have always thrived. However, during the past 12 months the Frenchie’s poos have often been soft and runny, but I’m not inclined to pay a fortune for ‘fad’ foods. Hence I decided to try this Hypoallergenic Lamb with Rice (Frenchies are also often said to be allergic to chicken), and so far this Dr John brand food has been brilliant. Each flattened circular piece of kibble is about 13mm in diameter and 5mm deep, and it is easily chewed and swallowed by the Frenchie. Both dogs have been on it for about a month to date, and both dogs are doing well on it - nice firm poos! Pricewise it is dearer than I’d like to pay, but it’s much cheaper than many ‘of the popular brands, and the many breed specific’ foods. I have also bought the Chicken and Oats flavour, and am so pleased with the product that I have both of these hypoallergenic flavours on Amazon’s Auto-delivery.

Early days but they love it!
Decided to swap our 2 Newfoundlands food as one of them was itchy and I know chicken is a common allergen (which was the main ingredient in their previous food) This is lamb based (although it does still have some chicken stock in the ingredients list so will have to see how we go...) The ingredients were good (as far as processed foods go) and even better it was a bigger bag for a few pounds less than our last brand! We bought new wet food at the same time. It's only been 2 days and we're still mixing in some of the old food so it's too early to tell if it'll help that but they absolutely love it! The one who is quite fussy and often doesn't bother to eat breakfast has been waiting for it the last 2 mornings and I've never seen their bowls so clean! One of our dogs is on antibiotics and we've been having to give him them separately to his food as he leaves them. Now with this new food we can just put them in and he eats it with them in no problem! It's too early to say if it'll help with the itching (and we don't even know if it food, it could be pollen) but taste wise this certainly hits the spot!
