We've tested a number of Rubio products and are impressed with all of them. They're foolproof and totally safe for our family. The Monocoat seems bet suited to use on previously unfinished hardwood furniture, and does not work well on plywood. The coverage is pretty good, though I've found it doesn't go quite as far as the manufacturer indicates. Easy to apply with just a standard staining pad - one for application and one for wiping off. Make sure to sand to a smooth finish and you will see sanding marks after application if not sanded well (but this is true of most finishes). It definitely works best when mixed with Part B as it takes a long time to cure otherwise. You can purchase the Part B Accelerator together with the color or purchase smaller quantities of the Part A and Part B separately. It is so so easy to apply, hardly has any smell, and washes off with water. The finish is not glossy at all, but it feels like it really protects the wood. I discovered it specifically when looking for a completely non-toxic, no VOC product to finish a bookshelf in our baby's bedroom. I feel totally confident that it's safe for my family and couldn't be happier with the results. We've used it on both projects that get heavy use and are rarely touched and the finish holds up well under all circumstances. For exterior applications they also have Exterior Hybrid Wood Protector. The Look IPE color in this product seems fairly similar to the Ice Brown in the Monocoat. The Exterior Hybrid Wood Protector is equally awesome and easy. We used it on two unfinished exterior doors and even some interior furniture that gets heavier use (i.e. kitchen table and desk).

Just follow the directions and you will get great results!!

The Rubio Monocoat was recommended to me by a millworker, and I’m so glad I tried it. I purchased a walnut butcher block tabletop that was raw and needed some protection, but I didn’t want to add any extra shine or change the natural look of the wood. This product did exactly what I was expecting—it provided a durable, protective finish while maintaining the wood’s natural beauty. It was easy to apply and absorbed well into the surface, leaving a smooth, matte finish. The wood still feels natural to the touch, and the protection is great. Highly recommend this product if you're looking for a way to protect wood without compromising its appearance!

Great product makes my wood look great and it’s easy to use

Solid finisher. It recomnds sanding down no more than 200-300 which isn't as fine as I would like. On that note you can start using your project within a day or so of application which is really nice. It still needs time to cure to waterproof though.

Awesome product! I bought this to protect my table from world market with a flat finish. It was very simple to apply, dried in a day or so. I have two little ones and their spilled food wipes right up off the table. So far very pleased! Very expensive for a tiny bottle but the sample bottle is all I needed to do my 78in tabletop. If I wanted to do my chairs or anything else I would need more.

I used this on a "river Table" in 2019. the wood was ELM and I really like the result. I purchased this for my current project which is a Shaker side Table made mostly with Bird's Eye Maple. I expect it to look like the attached photo. I am only applying it to the Bird's Eye Maple and Not to the Cherry drawer fronts!!! As you should also, I will try it first on a scrap piece of Maple! I hope you try this product yourself. I recommend that you buy the 100ml small bottle first to test it out for your project! Gordon

Cuando compres checa bien cuanto es lo que trae, he visto que dices esta caro y es apenas un bote de pintura de uñas... La verdad es que investigue mucho antes de comprarlo 20 mm te alcanzan para 1 metro cuadrados quizá un poquito mas pero para no fallar 1 metro cuadrados Su aplicacion super simple, una tarjeta de pladtico y desliza el producto por toda el área, despues 15 minutos de dejar que la madera chupe, retira con servituallas el exceso o con franela en dirección a la beta hasta que ya no quede húmedo con lo que limpias, y deja secar de 6 a 24 hrs y listo. Es un producto de una mano El de 20mm no necesita el complemento B, así que solo aplica

Ho fatto una prova per vedere come funzionava questo prodotto. I colori cioccolato e nero non corrispondono a quelli veri. Invece il puro è molto bello, quasi non altera il colore del legno e asciuga molto velocemente. Certo che il costo è veramente elevato.
