I got this to put in my bird bath that I set up near my hummingbird garden. I wanted a gentle spray for the hummingbirds because as it gets jot here in the south, they love a spray of water and will even buzz through the spray of water from my garden hose when I am watering. I didn't have very high expectations for this little fountain but it was inexpensive so I thought I would try it. It comes with 3 different spray heads. I picked one more or less at random and snapped it on the cone-shaped nozzle. That then snaps into a hole in the center of the solar disk. My fountain was already clean and full of water so I just gently placed the fountain in the water. Voila! It started sending up a gentle spray of water immediately. I couldn't believe it was so easy and worked so well. The spray goes up about 10 inches as long as it has direct sunlight. I passed my hand over it to block the sun and the spray went to a trickle. When I pulled my hand back, the merry little spray shot back up! I love it. I will note that I had to add 3 stones to the bottom of the bird vath bowl as it wasn't quite level and the fountain kept drifting to one edge and ghe spray would send water out of the bowl, emptying it over time. So I just put three stones in the bowl so if the fountain drifts, it will bump into a stone and stay fairly near the center of the bird bath. The birds like the stones to sit on, anyway, because the water is a little deep for some of them, so it all works out. I do have to keep the fountain and bird bath clean as debris will affect the fountain, but it needs to be kept clean anyway for the birds, so that is okay. I love watching it work. It really is a great little fountain particularly when you consider how inexpensive it is.

I put the solar fountain in the bird bath and it worked well and initially I thought it was great. However, on the next afternoon there was a breeze which resulted in the water to be blown out of the bird bath so I had to keep putting water in there to keep it functional. I also noticed that the "solar" function works but only if the unit is in direct sun light. After a few days, I just got tired of refilling the water and the final straw was when I was washing my car, I got tired of hearing the whine of the pump when the bird bath went dry. It happened to be trash day and the trash cart was near the street so I took the opportunity to throw it away. Update: I did not intend to be negative in my review of the product itself, so I decided to provide some clarification. This product clearly works well under optimal conditions. High winds combined with the fact our bird bath is small just was not conducive to the operation of the Solatec Solar fountain. In fact, you could say its durability is a plus because it still ran after all the water was "blown out" of the bird bath. It was the whine of the motor that continued to run even after the water was blown clear that made me decide to throw it away. If you are willing the maintain an optimal environment for this item, it works great. I think the company is making a great effort to provide a high quality product...just not a good fit for our bird bath.

It does what it advertises, it's a solar fountain. It has to be fully in the sun to work, and I use the default nozzle as a bubbler because when I was using the fountain attachments it was spewing the water so high into the air it was emptying the bird bath in an hour or so. But using it as a bubbler keeps the water moving enough to attract birds without having to constantly refill. Be prepared to clean it weekly or it will stop being able to pump properly. I also appreciated the legs (? Not sure what else to call them. bracers?) it came with to keep it centered in the bird bath, but the birds literally snapped the legs off because they were either trying to move them out of the way or standing on them. But that's not the fault of the pump itself, birds will be birds. I ended up just removing the legs and letting it free float and it still works great. YMMV if you're using it in a pool or pond where you don't have to worry about overly-excited birds messing with it. But even with that, it still works just fine. The only reason for 4 stars is the issue with most of the nozzles spraying water too far and the fact that it has to be 100% fully in the sun to work. Like if even a sliver of it is out of the sun it stops pumping. But I mean if you're on a budget and looking for something to churn water, this is a good option.

What a fantastic little fountain. It works perfectly, and will work every three seconds when sun is not out. Continuous flow when out. I bought a more expensive one and this is far better, more attachments more that perfect flow whatever you want. When it arrived I had a few bits missing, I got in touch with the seller who promptly posted out a whole new fountain. Excellent customer service. I love it! And plan to buy more. Such a great addition to my small oasis and my tranquil space with the sound of water that I wanted. Perfect and easy to put together and use, I had to cut the stres to make fit into the area I wanted, wasn’t sure if I was supposed to but works perfectly!

Works great and is very powerful. To the point that I'm using it without a nozzle so as to not have too big of a spout in full daylight. The suction cups at the bottom don't really hold so it floats around in the water but that's OK. Had it for a couple of weeks. Birds are curious and fly by but none have used it yet.
