It is cotton blended with polyester.please expect therapeutic experience while you sleep. yes, it is bit harder but it is soft & comfortable most of the time.we ourselves sleep in the flat floor, it is comfortable for 8 hours. we recommend it for regular usage at home.however, please buy & test it before you buy few.thanks,

I found the pillow too soft. My head just sank into the pillow. I prefer pillows to be firmer and support my head.
