Please don't be put off by any negative reviews about this product. It really works and is entirely natural. We have been using it once a day for just a month on one of our Bearded Collies. It took about a fortnight to gradually get her to accept it being rubbed around her teeth and gums, but the addition of peanut butter helps tremendously in these early stages. We follow Jan Fennell's dog listening technique which is all about working with the nature of your dog and never forcing them to do anything. If you use her method your dog will always want to co-operate with you because of his/her absolute trust in you so applying this brilliant product will not be a problem. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this product as if applied correctly you will see improvements in a week. Also, please don't be put off by the price - once you start using it on a maintenance basis it is very reasonably priced. We have been wasting our money on dog toothpaste for years which has proved useless - Thank you, Petzlife.

My friend who is a dog breeder recommended it for me. I find it very good and it is cleaning the tarter off my dogs teeth. He does not dislike the taste and is now getting used to me putting it round his teeth.

I noticed my 4 year old was beginning to get stains and plaque on his teeth. I started an intensive campaign to clean his teeth and return them to their former glory. I use this gel in combination with other things so could never comment on what this gel would be like as a stand alone treatment but it is billed as a softener of plaque so what I do on an evening is brush his teeth with a dog toothpaste and then rub this gel into his gums and teeth. He isn't too keen on it but tolerates it. I also use a homeopathic remedy called fragaria and add some seaweed to his food. His teeth are a whole lot better now. It took about a month to get them back nice again.

Having used a selection of products on my Jack Russell which claim to remove or reduce tartar on dogs teeth - including an expensive paste recommended by my vet', sundry chews and biscuits - I concluded that as nothing was having any effect, I'd have to resort to paying an exorbitant sum for professional treatment. Quite by chance, I bumped into a friend of a friend who at one time was a judge at dog shows and mentioned the matter to her. She did not hesitate to recommend this product which she'd used on her own dogs to good effect, so I placed an order for the Petzlife salmon 'flavoured' option which arrived in good time. I've been applying this daily for about ten days now and the results are quite amazing! The base of her [esp] canine teeth were crusted brown with deposits and that has all but disappeared. She'll never have a Hollywood style set of gnashers but they are now far, far better than they were. Recommended without hesitation!

A tried and tested product, whilst it does work well it now comes in different packaging than the one shown on this listing (not an issue, just an observation) but the "gel" is for some reason a lot thinner than it used to be which makes it harder to apply well without it running off your finger so lose one star for that. Not very happy with the over the top p&p fee for this small item so lose another star, it really could have been cheaper. I did try to add other items to get free postage but nothing seemed to qualify for some reason so I felt compelled to pay the postage on this occasion but I will look around a bit more next time. When I see a listing showing free postage I expect it to still be free postage when I click on it, not to find it isnt free unless you are a prime member. It is misleading and trying to pressure you into taking prime when not everyone wants or needs it. Yes I know there is a free trial but they hope you take it out and forget to cancel it (like my neighbour did) so you end up paying for it and I just wont try it out on principle because of that but perhaps I am getting away from the original point of the review.

Ok so here’s the deal. I’ve spent loads of time and wasted money on all sorts of dog toothpastes that didn’t work. But this really does. It’s the dogs b*******ks! The citrus in it cuts through the worst tartar build up in our dogs. V embarrassing we left it so long but part of reason was they hate toothbrushes. You don’t need them with this. Use your finger to coat their teeth with the product and it breaks it down. Voila! Clean nice smelling dogs tooth and no brush trauma! .

Product arrived in the old style bottle so I hope it isn't out of date, especially as I have seen the old stock selling for £6 less than I paid? That said, I still paid £5 less than when I used to first buy it direct from Petzlife. This has always been a great product. My 13 year old Border Collie is always complimented on his good teeth by the vet each year at his checkup. Both of my dogs are reluctant to have their teeth brushed but using the Petzlife oral care gel means it doesn't have to be done as often without endangering their oral hygiene.

Working really well in cleaning up.my rescue dogs teeth. He seems to really like the taste too. Over a month of using 2 times a day and such a noticeable difference. Better than the £600+ vet was going to charge to remove his teeth !
