I’ve been a mechanic for over 30 years. Not in my back yard, but as a profession. Tools are expensive and needed. I’ve learned that some things are better “off the truck”, even if they cost a bunch more. Usually that’s reserved for diag tools and tools with moving parts. Not in this case. Out of the box and using this tool for the first time(have used the same design many times, first time with this brand), wow is it horribly made! Skipped right off the filter cap as soon as torque was applied to loosen it. Grabbed the old worn one that’s been in service for 5 years, took the filter cap right off. Immediate return! Cheap materials used in the construction are evident when looking at it, which I would’ve dealt with and been fine with. But when you take it out of the box and it can’t do quite literally the only thing it’s designed for? An absolute waste and a useless tool. If I could, I’d ask the company to compensate my time for having to drive to return it, because it is that poorly made. Save yourself the headache and stay way from this tool!!!!!!

This tool is very well needed if you have a filter plastic cover.

The tool does not sit snug on the filter housing. Good luck if you are trying to to take off a plastic housing that got overtightened. Definitely worth spending the extra money for the cast aluminum ones. Other than that it works and is cheap

This filter wrench would probably be fine if it fit the cartridge filter housings on Toyotas better. It fits too loose. It would probably work, but my opinion is that it has the potential to damage the filter cartridge and or round off the cartridge housing. Just my opinion, not what happened to me, I chose to not use this wrench because of this. I went back on Amazon and ordered Motivx Tools Oil Filter Wrench for Toyota filter cartridges. This wrench is quite a bit more expensive, but fits perfect and is very well made. I would recommend it, rather than this wrench unless price is an issue.

It is listed as 64 mm but is actually 65 mm so it's loose on the filter and slips or get stuck. Very disappointing I really liked the design. I've seen this problem with other filter wrenches as well when they are oversized a little and that doesn't really help grip.
