The chunks are great because you can brew a couple of them over and over and they still produce fine tea. I use a couple chunks when I brew my herbal tea. I wish all the chunks had the black rind on them, but a large chaga burl can't yield all surface pieces. I get that. It can take a few hours with several chunks if you just want pure charge tea. Avoid boiling, a slight simmer is best.

My initial worry was that the this Chaga was not dark enough, but after receiving it, I found that it is quite dark on the edgest. Brewing tea from it, I boil it for about 15 minutes and then let it sit for an hour to cool. The tea it black as tar, which is what you want. Just an amazing product. Excellent quality.

Good tea

the size is perfect and it contains both the inside - pumpkin color - and the black outer cover. BOTH have important medicinal properties. Size is much easier to handle - I use a small, heavy canvas bag and whack with a hammer or the hammer end of my hatchet. I don't get ground Chaga because they are sometimes 'laced" with fillers - like colored rich flour. Also, I wonder if it doesn't lose efficacy. I have ground my own but now, if I want it powdered for faster use, i use a nutmeg grater...

This is my second review on this chaga tea. My first just got deleted writing it! I have been buying Chaga chunks for almost 20 yrs from Amazon. This “Ulthmok “ is the first and last time I'll be buying this one. I will be buying another brand from Amazon. I bought this cause I thought it was a new business , and the picture looked good as the price did!!! Wrong. Not one chunk here has the Black Crust on it, which shows it is the healthiest part, and is Premium Chaga. It is called “Sclerotium” The picture here shows the black crust , but doesn’t have one chunk with it on it. Very strange and misleading! Says it comes from Siberia but on the plastic container says Made in China from there company. Should have been warning signs to me when it cames in Plastic!! Does not say anything about what trees this is from which is important. Just want to mention I would Not buy chaga tea bags, Cause if your not familiar with chaga It could be mixed with something else, and not have the “Sclerotium “ in it, Just saying. But also not so sure the bags can be reused again! I simmer ( not boil ) chaga chunks for at least one hour or even 3 hrs in a large glass tea pot. Chaga chunks can be used about 3 more times, do not throw them out. There is actually not a taste to chaga , sometimes I add a organic green tea bag to my cup of chaga, and local honey. Some people put the old chunks in there compost pile also. This is going back to Amazon.

The black crust is where the active ingredients are located. I only got brown middle pieces. I would not recomend buying from this seller. You will not get the effect you are looking for. Very frustrating.

Order this Chaga for the first time and most of the pieces haveLittle to No outer Layer. That’s horrible. The outer layer has so much nutrients. Is that’s why? Do yall know that???
