Literally a Cool Product
Background: 18x36 pool, 4 to 8ft depth, salt water, Hayward Aquaclear control, Tennessee heat. As the temps rose this past June, we needed a way to lower the water temps from the low 90s to something more refreshing. This did the job. Setup was pretty straight forward. Remove the eyeball style pool jet returns. These fountains screw directly into the open receptical. They seem to be a universal design. Point the flow control valve down during install. You'll spin this to fine tune how far it sprays. Note on a setup like mine with 2 sprays (3 total returns), any adjustment to 1 affects the others. Set the first at 50% open and fine tune by adjusting the second. With the window more closed you get more distance and with it open water dumps out instead of going through the spray nozzles. You'll understand once you have them in hand... We have a variable speed pump. So the first time we turn it on it defaults to high speed for about 2 min. Once you adjust the spray angle here to keep the spray in the pool, all lower power settings will also keep water in the pool. For us the optimal angle was about 60°. We had the best success by extending the time our pump ran at night. 50% on the pump was more than enough. Our schedule looked like 730-10p at 50%, 4-8am at 50%, 11-2p at 25%. The pool temp dropped from 91° to 85° that night. The pool temp would gradually rise throughout the day but it would peak around 88-89, rather than 90-91. They feel well constructed and don't leak. My only complaint would be they need to include some type of filter or strainer. We have a cartridge style filter that works great but every so often a grain of sand or piece of debris is pushed back to the pool. Anything roughly the size of a red pepper flake will clog the spray nozzles. The only way to unclog them is to physically remove the horizontal bar portion an rinse them out which is a pain. I'd prefer to clean a screen once per month instead. In conclusion, I think this can reasonably give you 3 to maybe 4 degrees of additional evaporative cooling. Some of the cooling that happened during my test was the natural cooling that happens every night. It doesn't sound like much but the difference between bath water and refreshing is only about 5-7 degrees. This definitely made our pool more enjoyable and usable during July and August. Hopefully you found this review useful.

Easy Install. Works Great
Usually by the middle of summer our pool feels more like bath water. I was honestly surprised how well this little guy lowered the water temperature. Install was straightforward. It felt a little wiggly but once the water was shooting out it stayed in place. Our pool was nice and refreshing, even in mid-August

Truly cools the pool!!
I purchase and return an awful lot of products from Amazon, so much so that they’ve sent me an email letting me know I return more products than the average consumer LOL… but this product is an absolute game changer! I also never write reviews, but I read everybody else’s so it was important for me to speak to how well these work. I have a small shallow pool with a darker pebble tech lining and I live in Dallas, Texas. Typically by mid June to July our pool is almost unusable because it is so hot, the temperature of the pool is usually 95° or higher and I have ZERO natural shade in my back yard. My pool has four return jets and I initially purchased two fountains, this easily lowered the temperature of my pool by 10° in less than 2 days! I’ve been running it during the day, but I do believe the suggestion is to run it at night when the air temperature is cooler and I bet it would get even colder! I am truly shocked by how well this works, I added a third fountain just for symmetry… It also has a really nice ambient, relaxing effect from the sound of the fountains. Installation was super easy. Just buy it!!

Very easy 5-minute installation, works great
We tried another brand, it didn't work well. So we looked carefully at the reviews and this product stood out with high reviews. We highly recommend this product. Very easy to install. Took about 5-minutes. You can adjust the water pressure giving you the amount and distance of water spray that is optimal for your pool. Sounds great, similar to a fountain. Build quality seems to be very good.

Decent Fountain, But Not Plug-and-Play for Everyone
I recently purchased this SUMMERBUDDY Pool Fountain for my above-ground pool, and while it does work well after setup, getting it to that point wasn’t as simple as advertised — especially if your pool isn't already equipped with the right fittings. 🛠️ Installation – Not as Plug-and-Play as It Seems The product listing and instructions claim this fountain is easy to install, and that may be true if your pool setup is standard and compatible. But in my case, it required more effort than expected. My pool only has 3/4" openings, and it’s not really designed to support add-ons like this out of the box. I had already replaced my original hoses with upgraded ones (since the stock ones tend to break down quickly), so I had the tools and parts on hand to replumb and adapt the connection. Most people, though, probably won't have the spare parts or plumbing knowledge to do this on the fly. The instructions do mention that you can contact the company for help or the correct fittings, but frankly, I didn’t have the time or patience to go back and forth with customer support for something that should be included or at least more clearly explained upfront. In the end, I had to spend about $10 extra on fittings to get the fountain to work — not a huge cost, but it’s worth noting for anyone expecting a quick and easy setup. 💦 Performance – Decent, but Depends on Your Pump Once I got it installed, the fountain did what it promised — it lowered my pool temperature by a few degrees, which is a nice bonus during the hotter months. The dual spray pattern is visually appealing and makes a relaxing sound while running, adding a nice ambiance to the pool area. However, if you don’t have a strong pump, don’t expect a powerful spray. My pump is on the weaker side, so while the water does flow and create a cooling effect, it doesn’t shoot very far. That’s fine for me, but if you’re hoping for a dramatic fountain effect, be aware that your pump's horsepower really matters here. ✅ Pros: Cools the pool effectively (I noticed a drop of 6–10 degrees) Dual spray design looks and sounds nice Fairly easy to adjust direction and height of spray Can be a great visual upgrade to your pool once installed ❌ Cons: Not universally compatible, despite being marketed for both above-ground and in-ground pools Additional fittings may be required, especially for non-standard setups Weak spray with low-pressure pumps Instructions could be clearer about compatibility issues 📝 Final Thoughts: Overall, this is a solid pool fountain once it’s up and running, and it really does help cool the water while adding a nice aesthetic touch. However, I’m giving it 3 stars because it’s not truly ready-to-go for every pool — especially for those with older or customized plumbing setups. If you’re handy or already familiar with your pool’s fittings, and your pump has enough power, this fountain will probably work great for you. But if you're looking for an easy, no-hassle install, just be aware you might need extra parts — and a bit of time — to make it work properly.
