Live Flightless Fruit Flies – Live Food for Reptiles, Amphibians, and Invertebrates (Fruit Fly Culture - may not have hatched flies at first)

Product arrived quickly, with a decent amount of flies, possibly too many for one culture as it has boomed and I have at least 100 flies and growing, impossible to open without flies going everywhere.

I was getting a bit concerned when after 5 days my culture seemed completely inactive. I was away from home for a few days and when I returned I checked on the culture and it had exploded into life! The fruit flies are smaller than I expected, but plentiful in number and they must be tasty judging from my pet's reaction. If this culture survives for at least a couple of weeks I will be very pleased with this purchase.

I ordered these as I needed them for my baby jumping spiders, there was literally 6 flys. It's barely a culture, no lavae is in the fruit fly mix hence no fruit flys hatching. They need more flys in the tub so we have enough to keep us going. A complete waste of money.

Generous amount of fruit fly culture used at least 3/4”- 1” thick. I ordered on day one, culture arrived on day two (the packing department is on fire). I use the Drosophila hydei for feeding my Mourning geckos and spiderlings (also ideal for dart frogs as these flies are the larger variety). Very happy with purchase, A+.

There was no flies in the tubs at arrival whatsoever I had to wait a week until they hatched

I had mixed success with these flies. Have ordered several times and whilst some came with plenty of flies initially and then many weeks of more and more flies; some came with none initially and then eventually some flies; others never hatched any flies at all. This made if very difficult to gauge having enough food available for my pets.

Having bought two of these I can see both are the same. They are a fairly young culture so don’t expect to harvest straight away, I will give mine a week or so before thinking about taking any out. They came well packed and delivered quickly.
