This is close to being the ideal backing track player for musicians, if only there was an option to disable autoplay. It has stereo XLR outs, and plays WAV files or MP3 files from an SD card, so it is great to get high quality backing tracks into the mixer with a solid, balanced, XLR cable connection. What ruins the experience for this application is that there is no mode to play 1 song and then stop, and also when you navigate to a new song, it autostarts playing the song. These two aspects require you to manually pause the playback every time you finish a track or que up a track. As a result, I had to add 5 seconds of dead air at the beginning of each track to allow time for fiddling with this. If Douk could update the firmware to provide an option to disable both of these forms of autoplay, it would be the perfect backing track player. Another issue is that if your click starts immediately at the beginning of a WAV file, the player cuts off the initial click or two. This is also solved by making sure there is some dead air at the beginning of the track.

Didn’t work at all for me. Formatted two different flash drives, and two different SD cards in fat32 & exfat. Showed scanning for over 2hrs. Wouldn’t read any of the four. Customer service is nonexistent. Highly disappointed, I really wanted this to work for me.

This is absolutely top class among its class. There are not many youtube videos reviewing it in detail. A few are there but none of them describes its true potential. It has got almost all types of input and output connectivity, besides usb disking and sd card support. It competes against all top brands. Only one drawback is there, that is it doesn't have wi fi , so it can't stream from Spotify... etc. In fact it is not a streamer in true sense, it is actually a top class DAC with ESS9038– a top class chip with bluetooth and all possible kinds of input and output connectivity. It gives hi res audio and rivals against the best, if not outclass them. Though it is very expensive( around 35 - 37000)here on Amazon, but I got a steal here on Amazon and bought it for roughly ₹ 22000.(Even this price is not cheap, but one can not buy it any cheaper anywhere) I would say if you are looking for a DAC without real streaming (of course, you can use its bluetooth for limited streaming) which gives out a top class audio with all input and output connectivity, and also, if you are ready to pay quite a few bucks, go for it, if you find the price around 20000 - 22000 , get it . You'll never repent your decision if you love hi- fi, hi res music. Do pair it with a pair of good speakers.
