I have not worn makeup for over 20 years but I needed something as my son was getting so thought this set would be ideal. It arrived next day but sadly lacked any type of instruction informing exactly what was in the compact itself as I have no idea, this set is marketed as a great starter kit for teenagers and I am sure they are not aware of what everything is in the palate. The excessaries are quite good and the mascara although black is not heavy so you can apply it without drawing attention which again is ideal for teenagers and people who not like to wear lots of makeup. The only reason I have given this 4*'s is because of the lack of any information with product. I only used a small amount of eye shadow, eye liner and mascara but I am sure by adding a few layers you could build the colour up, as the set was new the eye liner took a bit to get to work but that is what I have had in the past with all new eye liners, I have already said about the mascara so won't repeat it, the mascara is not waterproof which I believed it was so lucky I had not put too much on, I personally feel that you would need to reapply the makeup regularly if you are wearing the makeup to a party as it is very light but again ideal for teenagers. I cannot comment on the look as I used the very basic but there are a lot of colours to choose from.
