The fabric is soft and when combined with the weight of our down-alternative comforter it is the PERFECT weight. We keep our house relatively cool at night and often struggle getting with getting overheated-but this hasn't done that to us at all. It is cozy, it is soft, we love it. I don't know how we slept before without it. On another note, we have two very large dogs that like to romp around and lay all over the bed and this has held up so far for 3 months without a single tear or issue. Easily machine washable, comes clean, defeats doggy drama.
