is it normal for the Ghd high rise brush to have smoking steam every time I use it?

If you are doing this you will see steam from the product heating up and protecting the hair with any heat element you use on your hair. This is the only reason it should steam when you use it. When air dried my hair is curly- do I need to blow dry it first?
