Perfect starter set for someone who wants to primarily throw on the wheel at least. I would say this has all the basics plus a few additions to get you going.

This tool set is great for beginners. It has all the tools you'd need to get started in an intro class. I really like it, the tools are sturdy, and do a great job trimming. The sponge is great to get a nice smooth finish as well. It looks nice and differentiates from the other tools my classmates have, and the stain makes the tools feel more special and higher end without the price tag. Only downside is that the red stain does start to wear off after awhile - not terribly so, but it does fade with time. It's to be expected when you are working with water and wood though so I'm not bent out of shape about it, and had a feeling that would happen.

For those of us who enjoy pottery and basic clay design... This is a great selection of shaping, cutting, slicing and dicing tools with a handly little sponge even. One thing I'm not particular impressed with is the case that comes with them. It's barely big enough to hold all of the tools, and it's got a bit of a flimsy, insubstantial feel to it, like it was maybe just an afterthought. Personally, the zip locking plastic bag the whole thing came in is of greater case value than the included black zipper case. Good variety of tools for the price! Our FAVORITE tool there is the wooden shaper tool. That one's just great, and feels exactly as it should in the hand of a sculptor... PERFECT!

Great kit for throwing on the wheel! I’m taking a beginning class and I needed a kit so this worked nicely! I like that it came with some of the extra stuff you don’r normally get like the little tools with the balls on the ends! I have been using those when throwing to make the bottom of the piece. They are all super easy to use tools, pretty self explanatory. If you don’t know the use you can look it up online or just create a use for it, I’ve done that lol. The tools are easy to clean, just rinse with water you can use soap if you want but you don’t really need it. I am super happy with these and have created a bunch of pieces already!

Just starting in the party world. This gave me the basic tools for hand building and to use on the wheel. Having my tools just made it easier for me and the quality is good for the price.
