However, since I have always used essential oils and all natural products only with my chickens since they were young, I was hopeful that the herb form of some of the essential oils that I use would work too. I am happy to say that so far, so good. My purpose in adding these to the nesting boxes was to chase away the pesky mosquitoes that for whatever have made a home in there this year for the first time. Roughly 24 hours after adding the mixture to the nesting boxes, when I went to check for eggs this evening, I was not swarmed by mosquitoes. As a matter of fact, I don’t remember seeing any at all! Hoping this continues. They also add a wonderfully calming scent to the coop! Very smart to add the long term storage bag and a tie for storing the herbs after opening the shrink wrapped package!
