This is a good suet!
I recently purchased suet at a local hardware store and was disappointed I was getting no woodpeckers. I decided to try this brand of suet, and within two weeks I have several species of woodpeckers. The red-heads seem to love it. This is a great suet and I recommend it!

Good feed for the money
I just started putting suet out for the woodpeckers and have had a steady group of visitors since I started. With the cold temperatures and the snow on the ground it feels satisfying I'm helping these little guys get through the winter.

My birds don't touch this suet.
Update Oct 12, 2020 Indeed, it took a little while for my birds to get a taste for these suets. But once they did, they are coming all the time. I used the 10 packs and I ordered more. ------ I have several Northern flickers (and other birds) that visited my yard every day. Two of the flickers do their nest in a dead cottonwood (see picture). I always keep suet available close to the cottonwood and they love it. I usually get my suet at the local store. During the covid19 crisis, I decided to order online. I did some reaearch and I settled on that one. The package was eco-friendly and recyclable. It says that it attracts tree-clinging and perching birds (such as Chickadees, Cardinals, Sparrows, Woodpeckers, Blue Jays, ...) and I have many of these visiting my yard every day. At first, I was hesitant to 10 cakes at a time but he price was attractive, so I decided to go with it. I have had this for 2 weeks now and "my birds" won't eat that suet. They tasted it as I can see that there was a couple of holes in the cake. But they basically ignore it. Not sure what is wrong with that suet. It is now going to the compost... I don't recommend.

More millet, less fat.
The birds like a fattier cake and this one is seedier, almost solid millet. This cake is easier to handle because it's less gooey, but the birds love the fat. It's cold here in winter, can't blame them.

IT ATTRACTS THE WOODPECKERS WELL.
EXCELLENT PRODUCT, HAD MULTIPLE WOODPECKERS FIGHTING FOR THE CAKES..JJ

Not a favorite food
My songbirds don't like this. I ran out of my usual brand of suet cake and the grocery store was also out, so I ordered this from Amazon. The birds sampled it but were not crazy about it. A couple days later I got their usual brand at the store and placed one cake in the feeder with a cake from Amazon. Two days later, the grocery store cake is gone, and the other cake is still there. I have observed the songbirds don't like, but the woodpeckers seem OK with it. I think I'll save the rest of the case for the winter. Maybe they will eat it then when their natural foods are limited.

Northern Flicker fave
All our birds seem to like this cake, but it is a favorite of our local Northern Flickers (PNW region), even compared to pricier cakes. I stock up each fall. It does attract the European Starlings, though, if that is a concern for you.
