My husband and I really like these bookends for the office. They are a good weight and hold up notebooks and books well. I like the look of them as well. They do not take up much room because they are narrow, which I like too. Cannot go wrong with these.

Pretty and pretty heavy.

This is a review about two pieces of 6 1/2 pound African marble to be used as bookends. Bookends are notorious for not doing their job. You come home from a hard day at work and find a pile of books on the floor because your bookends failed for the hundredth time. These bookends which, by the way, have a very nice minimalist sculptural quality, have so far managed to keep a fairly heavy collection of anthropology books on the table I placed them. I could not use them as they are displayed on Amazon because they would have fallen over so I used them in a different configuration and they are working very well. Plus, I like the way they look. So this is the conclusion of this review which has been about two pieces of sedimentary rock. Something of this nature is unlikely to occur anywhere but on Amazon.

These are a beautiful set. I bought them because they were heavy and I wanted to use them to hold my albums up. I put the nonskid tabs on the bottom and put it up and they knocked over. So I took them off and laid them on the side. Still didn’t work. But they worked good for books. Only took the star off because they didn’t work as I needed.

Solid, heavy, beautiful. If they tempt you and you need them, buy them; you won't be disappointed.

I was very impressed with the quality and appearance of these bookends. They are very heavy, and will certainly hold up heavier items. The fit and finish were perfect. They were extremely well packed in their own box encased in a one-piece foam surround with separate cutouts for each of the pair.
