Solid purchase.
The head came a little scuffed up, but over all looks pretty good out of the box. I wish it was hung a little cleaner but it's pretty solid. Heavier than expected but I personally like the weight of it. Unfortunately, a rivet popped off when I picked up the belt loop, but that's just a quick fix. Overall I enjoyed using this so far. Was able to easily split up some firewood, and hack through some knotted deadwood (just to test durability). The handle is pretty comfortable too, and looks great. Good gift idea for dads! Lol

Great little hatchet!
Picked this hatchet up for camping and it’s been impressively solid for the price. The weight feels good. It’s light enough to carry but heavy enough to split small logs easily. The handle fits well in my hand and gives good control. After a few uses the head loosened slightly, which is expected, but a quick tighten fixed it and it’s held up great since. Comes with sheath, belt strap holder, a sharpening block, and extra bits to secure the head. Overall it’s a durable little hatchet and definitely good value for the price.

Low-quality appearance, but seems to be a fair hatchet
This and many similar hatchets have wildly mixed reviews with quality being all over the place, and it seems just a crapshoot whether one gets a good one or not. The first thing I noticed opening this hatchet is the amount of adhesive packed into the eye around the handle. So much, in fact, it had dripped and coated about half of the axehead. The top of the handle protruding from the eye was cracked a split a little, but the circular wedge was at least centered. Bad hanging aside, the handle appeared to be well-grained and straight. The handle appeared to be stained, but at least it was wasnt coated in varnish, which promptly get sanded off my tools anyway as a blister-causer. The axe head itself, some scratches and glue aside, seemed to be made well, and the edge was set up in sort of a chisel style, with one side being fairly flat to the head, and the other side beveled more. Whether this was done intentionally or just as a result of poor shaping, I don't know. It did come pretty dull, but that's not uncommon or worth taking stars off. The included puck-style sharpening stone helped me give it a workable edge in about 5-10 minutes. For a test, I chopped a dried log in half, roughly 6" diameter. It cut really good, and has a nice weight for such a small hatchet. The handle was still firmly attached with no looseness after the log was in 2. Chocking up on the handle, the beard of the axe does protect one's hand while shaving or whittling. The leather blade keeper and belt loop seem pretty serviceable, but I have a feeling those big brass rivets won't last very long. Overall, I find it to be a nice little axe, but for the price, I would have appreciated a little better quality control on the hanging and the edge geometry.

It is very portable
It is very sharp. Great for axe throwing, and fire wood cutting, it is small and it weight makes it very portable. The head stays firm.
