Let me preface by saying I already installed Asante smoke detectors and so the wifi extender and apps were already working (on android phone). Took about 10-15 min . Almost anyone should be able to do this (unless you don't have a electric garage door opener). Instructions were good, supplies including wiring were included (that in itself is amazing) and mounting it on the wall was the hardest part. The app found the camera without me doing anything and asked if I wanted to add it to my other smoke detectors. I really like the Asante smoke detectors that have been installed and working well for about a year (emails and texts me even if there is a power failure). Well worth the investment. I will try to follow up with more feedback once I have a few months of use. No more garage door remotes to carry around!!P.S. The base unit is constantly losing the internet connection and needs to be rebooted. The only problem is, I'm usually never home to do that. 70% of the time I need to access my garage doors, the unit fails. Now they want me to send it back to them to check it out and repair or replace for a $125 fee. This does not make up for all the time the systems been down and the time it took me to email tech support and wait for a reply.
