Xavier is gorgeous, rich and just too charming for his own good. The two have a very nice slow burn romance that they fight from the beginning to end. Family dysfunction abound but this couple survives in spite of it all. Kai's list of eight bring the book to life and the real purpose of the book, besides the spine tingling romance, Sloan and Xavier's passion for one another and their lives. NYC was on full display and real love story to it as well. You could feel pulse of the city throughout. Loved the King of Sins theme throughout! A fabulous book you won't want to end! Review: ⭐️ 4 - King of Sloth was an entertaining and steamy read. While, this can be read as a standalone it is the fourth book in the Kings of Sin series. So, I would recommend just reading the prior books first for a better reading experience. It’s dual POVs of the main characters. Heroine: Sloane, a high-powered publicist Hero: Xavier, a billionaire heir Tropes: reverse grumpy-sunshine, forced proximity, hate to lovers, and a billionaire romance Overall, the premise was enjoyable. This book definitely had more plot development and centered more on Xavier’s business instead of the romance, which I didn’t mind. But I was a bit bored at times as it was quite slow-paced to be honest. There was still some amusing, steamy, heartfelt and sweet moments though. I absolutely loved all the cameos of previous characters as well. Sloane’s story and character growth was amazing. I loved how fierce, confident, and independent she was. Xavier’s devotion and commitment towards her was probably one of my favorite aspects. I just loved how hard he fell for her and didn’t give up even when she pushed back. The romance was sweet. It was definitely not as spicy as I was expecting though. They did have amazing chemistry, tension and banter though. The last few chapters were quite rushed and I wished certain storylines were a bit more fleshed out but the ending and epilogue were really sweet. Overall, still an enjoyable read with great characters.

Not my favorite
This one was clearly not quite ready to come out of the oven - beyond the many formatting issues, there were some pretty big continuity errors. Our couple went without protection for every scene except the big, heartfelt one at the end, and there was zero explanation why they went backwards - pretty sure that was just an editing error. Beyond that, I think this could’ve been a much stronger book with a few tweaks here and there (and a shorter page count). I liked it to an extent, but the relationship was often overshadowed by the extreme amount of business talk and family drama. I wanted more swoony moments and scenes that softened the edges of these characters, because they just weren’t easy to relate to without that. Our heroine is known as an ice queen and the hero is known for being hedonistic and lazy, so they needed that swoon factor. I will say that I liked the hero a lot more than I expected to at the beginning; he truly was gone for his girl, and I loved that he didn’t want to change her. I saw a lot of potential in their opposites attract dynamic, so I’m left feeling disappointed by the end result. The story follows Sloane, a woman who runs a PR firm. She’s known for being cold and aloof, which is part of what makes her business so successful. There is one client who drives her a little crazy, and that’s party boy Xavier. He doesn’t seem to have any ambition in life other than having a good time, but the death of his father changes that. With some complicated stipulations in Xavier’s father’s will, it’s the push he needs to finally get moving. Seeing a different side of Xavier draws Sloane in closer, and it’s not long before the chemistry builds between them. But neither one has ever considered having a lasting love before, and they might just be out of their element. I’m what you’d call a casual Ana Huang reader - I like her writing, but I wait to see what the tropes are before deciding to dive in. In this case, I was very intrigued by the blurb, and had such a good feeling about the story. I did not realize that Xavier and Sloane had been working together for years, which was pretty disappointing, honestly. I did understand Huang’s explanation that they had the kind of attraction that was easy to put on the backburner, but that certainly didn’t help the swoon factor, lol. They were good for each other though, and I would’ve loved more of the story to focus on the two of them rather than all of the side characters and distractions. It’s the kind of story that was JUST good enough to hold my interest, and could’ve really won me over if something great happened. Unfortunately, that simply wasn’t the case, and I found myself bored enough to notice all of the editing flaws. Audio note: Zero complaints about the audiobook, I loved the duet narration. Gregory Salinas and Elena Wolfe are both newer-to-me narrators, and they gave great performances. The duet style made it feel more immersive too. The runtime (13 hours) reflects the long length of the book, and it took me a few days to get through. Once I lost interest in the story, I switched to the kindle edition to speed things up, and that’s where all of the weird editing issues became obvious (paragraphs running together, weird line breaks, no distinguishing marks between perspective shifts, etc). They’re much easier to ignore in the audio format, so that’s another plus for the audiobook. There’s a decent amount of spice, so not sure I’d recommend this as a workday listen, but it’s easygoing and light overall.

Beautiful and Addictive
“King of Sloth” completely stole my heart — I honestly didn’t want it to end! Ana Huang delivers another unforgettable story that is equal parts emotional, steamy, and deeply personal. Sloane and Xavier’s relationship felt so raw and real; their chemistry was absolutely magnetic from the very first page. I loved how Huang built their connection slowly, allowing their vulnerabilities and scars to surface in a way that made them even more relatable. Xavier is one of the dreamiest heroes I’ve ever read — protective, broody, and so deeply loyal once he lets you in. And Sloane? She’s strong, ambitious, and beautifully complex. Watching them both learn to trust, to heal, and to fight for each other made for such an emotional rollercoaster. The writing was beautiful and addictive, filled with all the tension, banter, and slow-burn moments I crave. It wasn’t just about romance either — there were powerful themes of self-worth, family expectations, and finding your own path. I laughed, I cried, and I fell completely in love. If you love swoony, emotional slow burns with strong characters and deep character growth, King of Sloth will absolutely wreck you (in the best way possible). It’s one of my favorite reads of the year, and I already can’t wait for a reread! Rating: 5/5 stars. Highly recommend to anyone who loves slow-burn romance with heart!

A New Favorite MMC!
WHEW I have some mixed emotions about this one, so let’s get into it😂 This one started off really slowly, but once it picked up, I was hooked! When I got glimpses of the FMC, Sloane, in the first 3 books, she didn’t seem as uptight as she did in this book. But considering who her clients were, it made more sense here🥴 I didn’t think it was possible for anyone to dethrone Dominic Davenport as my favorite MMC in this series but HERE WE ARE with Xavier Castillo!🫠 First of all, he was beyond hilarious and I found myself cackling quite a few times throughout this book😂 And secondly, yall know how much I LOVE a reformed playboy. Add in some secret pining and we have a masterpiece🙂↕️ Well, almost. . . When I tell you I almost threw my kindle multiple times because of the FMC’s family, that is not an exaggeration🥲 Their behavior towards her and things that happened in the past was literally so disgusting and that’s all I’m gonna say cause I’m getting pissed off all over again😂🥴 And while I’m not of fan of how certain situations occurred, mainly the MMC being very childish towards the end, I do think the ending was wrapped up nicely and it didn’t feel rushed so that made me happy. And of course I can’t leave without saying that the spice was SPICING🤭🥵 the first scene I feel like came out of nowhere so I was a little caught off guard, but it surprisingly worked? Question mark?😂 Anywho😂🙃 Overall I really enjoyed this book and because of what happened at the end, I can’t wait for the next one next month!

Captivating Series!
Here’s a draft for your book collection review of Ana Huang’s series: --- My daughter was gifted Volume 1 of Ana Huang’s book collection, and after seeing how much she enjoyed it, I decided to purchase Volumes 2 through 4 for her. She couldn’t put them down! Ana Huang has a wonderful way of creating relatable characters and engaging storylines that draw readers in from the start. Each book builds beautifully on the previous one, with a perfect balance of romance, drama, and emotional depth. My daughter especially loved the strong, complex relationships and the exciting twists in the plot. This series is perfect for fans of contemporary romance who are looking for something fresh yet deeply moving. I highly recommend this collection if you or a loved one enjoys character-driven stories with a touch of passion and suspense. My daughter can't wait to see what Ana Huang writes next!

Another great book by Ana Huang!
Spice: 3/5 In King of Sloth, Ana Huang once again delivers a story with layered, complex characters that quickly drew me in. Sloane, the ultimate girl boss, is not only a successful publicist but a relatable workaholic whose journey made her all the more admirable. Xavier initially appears shallow, but as the story unfolds, the depth beneath his surface truly surprised me in the best way possible, adding layers to his character that I didn’t expect. The chemistry between Sloane and Xavier was undeniable, and the cameos from beloved characters in the Kings of Sin and Twisted series were a delightful touch, offering little glimpses into their lives that made me smile. While I did wish for a bit more closure on a certain plot point, I’m hopeful Vuk’s book will provide the answers. And honestly, a scene from Kai and Isabella’s wedding would have been the cherry on top! Tropes Include: - Grumpy x Sunshine - Forced Proximity - Billionaire MMC - He Falls First

Should be called King of Revenge.. but I get the Sloth title too.
Not gonna lie I did not get engaged in this book until chapter 12! I was super bummed but as usual Ana Huang did not disappoint. I absolutely loved all the cameos in this one all the way back to characters in her first book of the Twisted Series. OMG, when Alex showed up just reading his name I swooned. I thought I was over my crush for Alex after reading about my main man Christian Harper and then Dante Russo but clearly not haha just reading his name had me gasp... i know I'm ridiculous! The chemistry between Salone and Xavier was sooo good. She is strong, no nonsense, and beautiful which was inspiring. He is broody, timid, playful, observant and loyal all very sexy traits. The build was slow which I actually really like a slow build I don't think they actually have sex until chapter 25 but it was definitely worth the wait! I will say I'm super excited for King of Envy, Vuk and Ayana come up in this book a lot and I am ready to learn about the mysterious Vuk and his scars.
