Great brace for many reasons
I have used a mcdcvid knee brace, which was excellent. This knee brace is even better for me for a number of reasons: 1. It keeps my knee very stable. I play racquetball and that is the main time I use a knee brace. When I play, my knee stays right in place and I typically feel no soreness during or after playing. 2. Fits left or right knee. This works great on both knees. 3. Don't get scratched by the velcro. One of my gripes with the McDavid is that if i wear it on my right knee, it scratches up the left knee. This happens because some of the velcro doesn't fit on the strip and just hangs. This thing is designed nicely so that the velcro all sticks on to the brace. 4. Tight or loose. Some days when my knee is feeling sore I will really compress it tight. This allows me to do that just by pulling the velcro straps tight. It stays just fine and doesn't loosen at all. On the flip side I can put on a bit looser when needed. It is quite adjustable. 5. Not a slip on. The brace can be put on and removed with your shoes still on. Several designs don't do that and I understand that it is for the sake of compression and support. Makes sense but this brace still does a good job of maintaining those things while still be capable of being removed with shoes on. 6. Plastic coverings. The metal supports connect at a very solid plastic hinge. The plastic is nice because it doesn't run the risk of cutting up my legs or possibly other people should I accidentally bump into them. 7. Solid construction. I've had this for a few months already and it seems to be holding up just fine to the abuse I'm heaping on it when I play sports and so forth. Thus far, I haven't been able to see any bad things about it. I'll keep an eye out in case something changes my mind.

Excellent support
NEO G Stabilized Hinged Open Knee Support - Medical Grade Quality with side hinges HELPS injured, arthritic knees, strains, sprains, pain, instability, ACL, Meniscus Tear - ONE SIZE Unisex Support This model offers terrific support. The long straps above and below the knee allow you to wrap it more tightly than you can with other braces I've used. And the hinged sides make it feel more secure than the NEO G model with the the metal inserts (which I also liked). It lets me walk/hike easily, and I can even play some basketball without feeling like my knee will slip out. But it does limit your range of motion somewhat and also does not eliminate knee pain when you land the wrong way. Still, it's the best brace I've found for a reasonable price, And it works a lot better than the super expensive knee brace an orthopedic doctor prescribed for me a few years ago. That one was complicated to put on, left the skin around the back of my leg badly bruised, and was cumbersome. The NEO G is simple to put on, fits easily under your pant legs, and is pretty comfortable.

Great support for my old knees
I was skeptical about buying these supports, but the cost is minimal compared to their value. I have been wearing them for about 5 days now and have experience no discomfort from the product. It really makes a difference in my old knees. These may help me instead of having a total knee replacement. I thought they might bind behind the knee, but they don't. They don't rise up on my legs nor in anyway hinder my movement. They have been extremely helpful in going up and down stairs again. I would highly recommend these to anyone who has knee pain.

Excellent Brace for Post Op Transition
I recently had the misfortune of experiencing a bilateral patellar tendon rupture. In fact, you'll see I reviewed some compression sleeves about 6 months ago in an attempt to ease the pain from my patellar tendonitus. Well, after years of hard activity they both gave out on me about 6 weeks ago while playing tennis on a hard court. After surgery they equip you in massive, (2 pounds each) braces that are your best friend for the first month or so as they can lock and prevent you from ripping out the surgeon's work while allowing you to walk stiff legged from place to place. That said, they are bulky and make wearing clothes over them difficult. I am now at the point where my surgeon has cleared me to remove the heavy braces for daily activity and I found these braces to wear instead. They are excellent braces and provide just the level of support I am looking for as I transition back to normal life. They are super comfy and easily adjusted and breathable during exercise. I have zero complaints and the price is competitive as well.

Excellent brace for short term use.
I have a meniscus contusion and overall sprained knee from multiple injuries in a short period of time. I need some support to stop any lateral movement so I can manage little things like walking across the house and rolling over in bed over the next few months. I bought this brace just over a month ago, and it worked wonderfully for daily wear for about 3 weeks. After 3 weeks the velcro started to slip. It started with the middle strap popping off or sliding out of place until it reached fabric that was still fresh. After another week, the bottom strap started doing the same thing, which rendered the brace almost useless. After 5 weeks of wearing this brace, I've bought different brace. This brace isn't meant for long term recovery.

Highly Recommend
Excellent knee brace. Very quick & easy to position for support & comfort. Far superior to the pull on variety. The hinged knee allows for a normal gait which puts less stress on the hips. I've tried different braces but most are uncomfortable & tend to slip down. This brace stays at the knee & is actually comfortable to wear all day. One note...metal hinge is made with screws. Make certain the flat head part of screw is next to knee. I had to remove the hinges & turn them around...what a difference.

Neo G Advanced is better than Neo G Stabilized version
Update - After about 6 months of use (I used about 3 days a week and generally while taking some long walks in the evening but occasionally for a full day while I travelled), the velcro would not hold up and started to constantly slip. The support started slipping down to feet around same time. So, remember this while purchasing. Apparently not covered by warranty replacement as its a one-size product. I have tried Shock Doctor and am trying Mueller Hg80 hinged knee brace right now. Mueller Hg80 hinged brace is not appearing to give me much advantage over Neo G although it is supposed to be more supportive. I will update after more use. Shock Doctor is way more supportive if you need it but it is also bulky and hard on the knee and does not allow all free motions if that is needed. Neo G appears to be good for basic injuries but is much easier to wear for long period of time than Shock Doctor. This is my experience. So, check what your need is and order accordingly. I am going to order one more to replace my previous one which is useless now. I have a grade 1 meniscus tear and was looking for something to support my knee as my basic knee brace stopped helping me. I bought this one and the Stabilized version as they were priced same. However, I did not find any reviews differentiating between them and so was forced to buy both. I noticed significant difference. The Advanced version helps me a lot and so its a keeper. The stabilizer version appears to be for the people with simple sprains or who need a temporary help. For someone with meniscus tear or similar issue, I would get the Advanced version as that will provide much better support. My knee does not hurt and I can walk anywhere and any long using it. Hope this helps someone with hurting knee to make the right choice.

NON RETURNABLE!
Do not buy unless you are sure you will like it and it will fit. Buried in the fine print: NON RETURNABLE. Unacceptable in this day and age. I am a devoted Amazon shopper - this makes me think it's time to find another online shopping place. The item does not fit me, is too aggressive with it's large metal side supports, and is 3x more expensive than the one I kept. So disappointed.
