I have an indoor, wet sauna with cedar floor, wall, ceiling planks, bench and sitting ledge. The wood was dry and desperately in need of some TLC. I researched various oils and was concerned with the feedback of smoking / smoke-filled air after treatment. Based on other reviews, I select Sauna Wood Oil. SO glad I did...great product!! I followed the directions on the can (for the most part). I actually took the bench and floor planks outside, sanded them lightly, and oiled them in the sun. I oiled the walls and sitting ledge at room temperature and then cured everything at about 110 degrees F. The treated wood took on a darker (healthier) appearance, the oil has a very nice scent, and the finished look is like a NEW sauna! I love it! And best of all...I have had my sauna up to 190 defrees F and NO smoke!! Strongly recommended!

We have a cedar lined sauna built into our Northwoods cabin and use this oil to protect our investment. It works great and is easily applied. You can even put it in a spray bottle and wipe into the wood, this works especially good in tight or upside down areas. Definitely would recommend. Be aware that the product should not fall onto anything that is not wood, especially your heating element.

Penetrates deep into the western red cedar & smell great. A little pricey but well worth it.

Very Most interesting Product. I was just browsing Sauna Products and found this, I have had my Sauna since 1988, and never treated it. What an amazing difference that this Sauna Wood Oil has made. My Sauna is a Four Person Sauna so make sure that you purchase TWO Quarts. The Finish is a little darker then I though, but with use it just might lighter. It was very easy to apply, they really was nothing at all to clean up. Please Look at the photo's so you can truly see the Difference. The Smell is now like getting into a brand new car. I’m amazed how this changes the color of hemlock to a cedar tone. I love that. I love cedar and the sauna I recieved was a gift so I used this oil and it’s quite nice. Inside the can it’s clear as could be but when you brush it on it turns to a cedar color. Magic and I have no idea what they did to make that happen. It has a nice smell too but it’s not a true cedar. Not a big deal because I’m an aromatherapist since 94 and I have all kinds of different cedars to play with. This will be my go to treatment oil for any sauna I have.
