Ease of navigation
This Garman helps my wife navigate around town as well as on trips. It has all the features we wanted in a GPS. It connects quickly and has never lost a connection while driving. The display is easy to see in day or night. The functions were hard to get use to but after we got use to them they are easy to navigate. The overall quality is very good.

Great GPS with typically idiosycracies
Great GPS with reasonably accurate voice recognition. Has worked very well for us with only minor quirks when it can't understand a name of a road or finds a mcdonalds in another state. Sometimes the routes may be shorter but not the best road if you know your area. Like all GPS units, even your phone, they can make bad route decisions so worth checking the route. We were able to also input longitude and latitude positions to find hard to navigate to USDA forest service camping spots. Has performed well for us so far.

Impossible to Get Lost
I am the type person that dreads learning a new product. I moved to a new city and knew I needed backup to learn my way around and to keep from getting lost. I read enough of the directions to get started. Charging it and letting it download whatever it needed. I do not and will not have a smart phone and so do not enjoy some of the conveniences that others will with directions. But, it's pretty easy to use. I input an address and select "start new route". This thing is the nuts! I did not trust it for quite awhile. I wrote down directions to follow while inputting a destination in the Garmin at the same time. One thing I have found that is a little frustrating. I can map a more direct route than it can about half the time using Google Maps. Even with its sometimes out of the way seeming routes I get there. Once at a destination to return home I simply hit "Home" and follow its lead. I got utterly lost on a pickup run. My directions did not work. I got the Garmin out of the glove compartment, powered it up, inputted the address and was there in a coupe minutes. Another time while on the highway there was a BAD wreck and back up. I was utterly unfamiliar with the area, even the highway I was on. I used the screen as a map to find a new route to follow. If I get off what it thinks is the right direction I'm constantly urged to "get back on track". Once it "catches up" with how I'm going IT gets back on track. I chose this on the strength of Garmins reputation and the positive reviews. I also wanted a stand alone device. I have not been disappointed and it has been a little godsend. I know I'm not using it to its fullest advantage. It gets updates. It is extremely accurate. It even knows when the speed zones change and gives a little warning. But I'm happy to use it as I do and I do not get lost and am learning my way around. For that reason it is well worth what I paid for it. I could not recommend it any higher.

Ease of use
We just returned from a 2,973 mile road trip where we used this Garmin for the first time. It's my third Garmin in ten+ years, so the learning curve was probably a bit easier for me, but I absolutely love it. We hit a lot of State and National Parks in WV, VA and PA and it worked liked a charm. Just a few navigational issues here and there, but that's the map -- not the device. We drove through the western, then the eastern sides, of the states we passed through from Tampa, FL to WVA. Was a great help in finding gas, food and lodging. Not to mention, obscures locations for some of the water falls we were seeking. I highly recommend it. Refurbished or new. I was not able to get the mobile app to work, but I also had very little time to work with it before we. left. It was a last minute purchase when I found that my older GPS system was not syncing well with my newer (different platform) computer. I'm really glad that happened because this newer GPS is a dream!
