The bag size is generous for the price, and it worked perfectly for my blue death feigning beetles. It looks fantastic in their Australian outback-themed enclosure and adds a nice, realistic touch. It’s also super easy to use you can just pour it directly into your tank without needing to rinse it first. If you want to rinse it to cut down on dust, you can, but just be aware that you might lose a bit of sand in the process. I personally didn’t find rinsing necessary. Cleaning is simple too. I just spot-clean it every now and then to remove leftover food or waste, and that’s really all it takes to keep it looking good. Overall, this sand is high-quality, easy to work with, and an excellent value for the amount you get. Highly recommend it for anyone setting up a desert or arid habitat.

if you have leopard geckos or bearded dragons, this is amazing for your reptile tanks and easy to clean. i got it for my little ones (4 and 7 years old in 2 dif 40G tanks) and they love this stuff. Never have any issues and holds temp well too

Ok I know it's pricey.... but it's worth it. My Rankin's Dragons (pygmy bearded dragons) are LOVING digging in this stuff! It's super cool to see them exhibiting natural behaviors in real Australian sand. My favorite thing about this product is that it's actually not that dusty.... which is a HUGE plus in my book, and makes the cost worth it. A lot of the cheaper sand products on the market are SUPER dusty and it's a pain to deal with any of them, which is part of why I tried this. The main reason I spent the money on this is because I try to keep my animals as naturalistic as possible. I couldn't resist giving my Aussie lizards some Aussie substrate. It's heavy stuff of course, but all the sand products are. Lovely reddish color but so far it's not discoloring them like some of the other cheaper, more common reptile sands. I know a lot of people are going to scoff at the price, but hey keeping animals is pricey, and keeping them happy and healthy is worth it!

I was genuinely excited to try this Australian Jurassic Sand for our bearded dragons’ habitat, especially because I was expecting a rich, red desert tone. When it arrived, I was so surprised by the color that I actually thought I had received the wrong one. Instead of red, it appears much more like a light yellow or soft tan. That said — once I got past the color disappointment — I was pleasantly surprised. The sand blend itself is excellent. It has a very natural appearance and creates a realistic desert look in the enclosure, even if it’s not as red as expected. More importantly, our bearded dragon seems to really enjoy it. One of our biggest concerns was health risk due to impaction, especially since loose substrates sometimes get a bad reputation. I was specifically watching to see if it would stick heavily to their food — and thankfully, it doesn’t. It adheres minimally, which gives me more peace of mind during feeding time. It’s also: Easy to spot-clean Low dust compared to many other sands Not overly messy outside the enclosure While I do wish the color leaned more red to better match our habitat aesthetic, the performance and quality have won me over. I will absolutely be purchasing it again. If you’re buying this strictly for a deep red tone, just be aware it’s more of a light desert shade. But in terms of functionality and dragon approval, it’s a solid choice.

This is the best substrate for bearded dragons since it comes directly from their natural habitat. My guy loves digging in this, and it’s pretty easy to clean. You need several bags to fill a properly-sized enclosure, but it is so so worth it. You don’t need to bother with mixing multiple substrates like you would with regular sand, so it’s super easy to use and set up. It also holds up well, and you won’t find yourself changing it out completely unless your dragon regularly eliminates in the substrate. Your dragon will be so much better off with this stuff!
