I am not afraid to use it, because if it does end up snapping, the dangerous part will be protected inside the fabric and not free to get me in the face like the other kinds. I actually like working out again and this gives my arms a great challenge. -I can finaly see some definition there!Then my dog found it and thought it must be a fancy new toy for him & I needed to replace it.I discovered they come in different levels of resistance. Cool. I went with green again, since that was the color my dog ruined, and I wasn't sure what level I wanted. Turns out the green is perfect for me. (Maybe one day my arms will get stronger & I'll be brave and get a tougher level of resistance)Now Max has his own workout toy while I work out & we are both happy.I haven't watched the DVD that comes with this cord, so I can't comment on it. After using this every other day for a month, I'm feeling stronger and my once jiggley upper arms are getting more defined and stronger. I chose the medium cord and feel it's good for beginners. The cord is covered with a soft but strong woven fabric and keeps your skin from getting pinched during some of the workout moves. The DVD that comes with this is decent; there are 3 separate 20 minute workouts for (1) upper body, (2) lower body and (3) core/abs; and Tanya is easy to follow, she also has modifications for those just starting out. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Good for intermediate level workout *by A***E on Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2012* I am a beginner to working out and purchased this product hoping the light resistance band would come with a DVD aimed for beginners. It's really an intermediate level workout (kicked my out of shape butt pretty early on) and looks like it's probably the same one they ship with the set of all three cords. Because I wasn't able to do all of the routine, I am going to keep this on the shelf for a little while til I'm ready to move on from some of my other beginner level DVDs. It's not a bad product, I can't do it because of me, not because of it! I like how the instructor counts down so you know how many reps you have left in each move. It's easier to keep going if you know it's ending soon. The instructor and her helpers all have stupid fake smiles plastered on their faces the whole time, which I actually find irritating.
