Pay Close Attention To The Instructions!!!
EDIT: I HAVE HAD TO RETURN THIS FOR SAFETY REASONS. Steam repeatedly sets off the touch screen. Annoying when it stops the flow halfway through, terrifying when it starts the flow up again randomly because it takes 30sec for the screen to auto lock and there's no manual override. MY ORIGINAL REVIEW: The things I love about this machine: Functionality is pretty intuitive Capacity is great Heating capability is decent Things in not so keen on: Speed of dispensing It's a bit noisy when dispensing The indication beeps are annoying It's very demanding I know that last one seems odd, but when the descale indicator comes on you really need to pay attention to it. In hard water areas this could need doing more often. I'm in a very hard water area, I have an inline filter on my tap but even in combination with the filter in the machine, I'm still having to do it every 3 weeks or so. It takes 120g of citric acid every time. I've noticed that as soon as the descale indicator comes on, the machine starts to get a little strange in functionality. It can stop dispensing fully, and it beeps a lot more. Pay close attention to the part of the instructions that says to keep it ventilated. Otherwise steam can condense on the outside of the display. At worst it can activate the machine without human intervention at best it causes a lot of beeping if the screen has managed to lock like it's meant to. Even with clear space around mine, I've still needed to add a bandana made from a thin muslin cloth. Otherwise it yells at me constantly after use and has reactivated a couple of times. The screen only stays active for 60 seconds after being unlocked, but that can be enough. I change the cloth when I do the descale. So, on the whole I really like it. It's the best dispenser I've owned or used, and the filtration is great. But it seems to need a natty little fashion item to make it less annoying (or potentially dangerous).

Works well
Not 100°, but hot enough for tea, so I'm happy. Controls are easy, easy to fill, holds large quantity of water, much safer than pouring a kettle, looks OK, footprint not much more than standard kettle, quiet operation (although beeps when completed).

Good for our needs, with some flaws
We have had this product for 9 months now and it is in daily use so can elaborate on pros and cons. Pros: -quick water on demand -choice of temperatures and volumes of water -no need to lift up a heavy kettle, just stand the mug underneath - most of the mugs fit - even the massive 520 ml LEGO one -easy to have filtered water already built-in with the water supply and boiler at the same time Cons: - the Philips logo seems to fade with time as the steam affects it (does not bother me that much, just an observation) - we went away twice for around 10 days each time and left water in the container. It seems green algae started gathering more often since then in the bottom corners and the little space where the black little bit is inserted - I use the 999 ml setting very rarely, but on couple of occasions it just kept going to over 2 litres when I was filling up a large saucepan so would be careful there and keep a watchful eye. Sometimes there is slightly less or more volume in the lower settings, but not a big difference - it takes a while to dispense the water if you need bigger amount for cooking as the stream is small and slow, then you would have to probably refill the tank halfway, etc. Easier to just boil in the saucepan on the cooker and then place whatever you cooking in that boiling water -the descaling indicator shows up quite soon after scaling, I tend to ignore it for a bit and then descale - the cold water is lukewarm, especially after dispensing hot water and it will be room temperature anyway. I tend to always have some ice cubes in the freezer if want a glass of cool water on the hot day Overall I am happy with this device and it makes life easier for people who like their cuppa.
