The tone is important to me as a formerly professional musician with a studio full of young and adult piano students. I use these with my kid students alongside other maracas and percussion instruments, to compare tone colors and train the ear, while learning rhythm skills. This is a very fun way for the kids to learn, and the price is unbeatable as is, again, the mellow and pleasing tone color! It is soft, and that is good, encouraging all the more listening. Great size for one year olds hands but my 3 year old also loves them. Fun colors and designs. They have held up from my kids playing and tossing them. They wipe off easily and haven’t discolored. Fun sensory toy
