Not the easiest to put together initially but after a while you get the hang of it and learn the tricks of doing it. The manufacture is good so all the pieces are well made and feel sturdy. The pieces feel strong when put together and there is some flexibility with how you can arrange the shelving heights. The supplied wood is a little thin but because of the supports underneath I think it should be fine for my purposes of storing tools in the garage. I may varnish them just to ensure a longer life. There are also fixings to secure the shelves to the wall behind. Overall this is an excellent product for the price, better than expected for the price and well made.

I bought these shelving units for my garage and overall I’m satisfied with them. Assembly was straightforward and once set up, they feel stable and do hold a good amount of weight as described. The metal frame is solid, and for garage storage they do the job well. I’ve organised my tools and boxes without any issues so far. However, the shelf boards (chipboard) feel a bit thinner than expected. They fit properly, but I do think the shelves could be made from slightly better quality material for extra durability. Overall, good value for the price and practical for storage, but improved shelf quality would make them even better.

Very sturdy and well-built shelving unit. Easy to assemble with clear instructions, and all parts were included. Holds a lot of weight without bending and looks neat once installed. Perfect for garage, storage room, or workshop. Excellent quality for the price, highly recommended.

Really good bit of kit. Was impressed with how easy they were to put together once you got going. Difficult to get the prongs fully correct (in the middle and not pushed outside of the frame) it did on some but doesn't effect the use thus far, and I doubt it will. Tidied up my small shed enabling me to walk in and find what I need. Cheap in my opinion was £40.00 on a "today's deals". The racking came with gloves, that I didn't use but was nice, they were low quality but for free not bad, if you like using them that is. Some of the metal edges can be a bit sharp, but as long as you're careful and confident its fine. There was some fixing screws to ensure it doesn't tip over, however I chose not to use these, with the weight it has on it, I doubt it's moving.

Took about 1 hour to build 1 set of shelves on my own without any tools to assist. I didn't use the instructions as it was very self explanatory and simple to build. They seem decently sturdy but I wouldnt say they are suitable for heavy parts as they are a bit flimsy and one of the shelves middle support beams likes to come out. Luckily its only holding fabric so if it does fail then it wont be too bad. Be careful putting these together as they are sharp and I did cut my thumb on them, however I put this down to me not using tools mostly as I doubt I would have cut it if I used a mallet. These are great for what I needed them for. But I wouldnt use these in a garage for heavy parts as I can imagine them failing in the future. But for the price they are suitable for me.

I was initially drawn to these SONGMICS 5-Tier Heavy-Duty Shelving Units because of the high ratings and the promise of easy assembly with no bolts, screws, or nuts needed. The idea of a hassle-free setup sounded perfect, so I went ahead and ordered several units. Unfortunately, my experience hasn't lived up to the promise, and I need to highlight some serious flaws. 🔨 Assembly Challenges Although the shelves are lightweight and relatively easy to move, assembling them turned out to be much more challenging than expected. The assembly is advertised as quick and bolt-free, but it’s anything but seamless. I highly recommend having a rubber hammer and a flat, thin screwdriver on hand, which you’ll need to push the metal lips into place. After assembling a few, I managed to get the hang of it, but it still took me about an hour for each unit—not exactly what I’d call "quick." 📦 Storage Capabilities Once fully assembled, the shelves do hold a decent amount of weight. Initially, they look flimsy and incapable of supporting heavy items, but they do stabilize once loaded. Just a heads-up: moving them while items are on the shelves could easily damage the frame, so make sure you place them where you want them before loading them up. 🌧️ MDF Shelves: A Serious Problem Now, here's the real problem—the shelves themselves. They are made from untreated MDF, and if you’re thinking of placing them anywhere other than a dry, indoor room, you should reconsider. I installed them in my summer shed, which is adequately ventilated, with no damp issues, but the MDF shelves started attracting moisture. The untreated MDF means they are highly susceptible to mould growth, and that’s precisely what happened. Despite keeping my shed well-ventilated, I noticed cold and dampness starting to form on the shelves during the winter months. I’ve had to remove everything, wipe the shelves down with bleach, and put everything back multiple times. Even after treating the shelves with yacht varnish—which took ages and required me to remove and then replace all items—the mould kept returning. 💸 Waste of Time and Money Between the cost of the shelving units, the yacht varnish, and the countless hours spent scrubbing mould and reassembling, this has been an incredibly frustrating and expensive ordeal. These shelves are by no means cheap, and having to go through all this hassle just to make them functional is simply unacceptable. They are clearly not fit for purpose if they can’t be used in a shed or garage, which is precisely where most people would need this kind of storage. ☠️ Health Hazard The worst part is the potential health hazard. Mould spores are dangerous, especially when airborne, and could easily lead to respiratory problems. This is a huge concern, especially since these units are supposed to provide safe and reliable storage. Instead, they’ve become a breeding ground for mould and fungus—hardly what anyone needs in their storage area. 🚫 Final Verdict I would strongly advise anyone considering these shelving units to look elsewhere. They might work fine during the summer months or in a perfectly controlled indoor environment, but if you’re planning to use them in a garage, shed, or any outbuilding, prepare for disappointment. Come winter, they’ll be worthless, covered in unsightly and dangerously spreading mould. Save yourself the hassle, the expense, and the health risk—find something better suited for the job.

These are reasonable quality but not sturdy. I have previously bought shelves like this and these are not as good quality! The metal is quite thin and the parts are trickier to slot together. The process of assembling them is very easy, but the thinness of the metal is what makes assembly more difficult. Once assembled they are serviceable for my needs - but I am using them in a toy storage cupboard for various size and weight toys so they are fine. I would not buy them with a view to using them in a shed/garage and placing much heavier items on them as I believe they would be unfit for purpose, and probably not safe. They’re ok. Just be wary of the sturdiness.

J'ai choisi de monter une étagère complète et de laisser la deuxième en demi pour faire un petit établi. J'ai réalisé le tout en moins d'une heure seul avec juste un petit maillet. A voir avec le temps.

Ho ordinato queste due scaffalature metalliche per la cantina della mia abitazione. IMBALLAGGIO: all'interno dell'imballaggio troverete tutti gli elementi delle scaffalature, le istruzioni e un paio di guanti da lavoro. L'imballaggio è ben fatto e tutti gli elementi erano integri e ben posizionati. Le istruzioni, anche in italiano, sono ben tradotte, semplici ma molto chiare (per il montaggio non ho dovuto guardare i video del prodotto, ma ho solamente seguito passo per passo le istruzioni). Troverete anche un paio di guanti da lavoro, sono utilissimi e vanno assolutamente utilizzati, perché i profilati in acciaio sono molto taglienti. MONTAGGIO: prima di iniziare a montare le scaffalature dovrete procurarvi un martello con testa in gomma e un cacciavite con testa piatta, assolutamente indispensabili per il corretto fissaggio delle linguette di ancoraggio dei profilati. Ho montato tutto da solo, ma in due persone si fa molto prima. Se si seguono le istruzioni, il montaggio è molto semplice e ripetitivo, quindi dopo i primi pezzi andrete sicuramente più spediti. Infatti il primo scaffale l'ho assemblato in circa un'ora e mezzo, mentre per il secondo mi è bastata solamente un'ora. CONSIDERAZIONI AD ASSEMBLAGGIO ULTIMATO: una volta montati tutti gli elementi, gli scaffali risultano stabili. I ripiani sono in compensato di spessore di circa 2/3 mm e non tollerano l'umidità. Pertanto vi consiglio di verniciarli con un prodotto resistente all'umidità o, come ho fatto io, di proteggerli con pellicola trasparente da imballaggio. Nel kit vengono fornite quattro viti e relativi tasselli per il fissaggio a parete. Io non li ho fissati a parete, perché dopo aver riposto le mie cose gli scaffali risultano ben stabili e non soggetti a ribaltamento. Nel kit di montaggio non è prevista nessuna vite per unire le due scaffalature, ma io le ho unite con quattro viti e bulloni sfruttando i fori presenti nelle parti inferiori e superiori dei profilati verticali. Sicuramente sono molto soddisfatto di questo prodotto, perché il rapporto qualità/prezzo è ottimo. Se avete bisogno di scaffali per ordinare e posizionare i vostri attrezzi, scatoloni, etc, questo prodotto fa al caso vostro. PER ADESSO CONSIGLIO QUESTO PRODOTTO!!!.
