Technology of the Gods: The Incredible Sciences of the Ancients Review: Very Interesting - Even if you do not agree with everything in this book, this author does a great job of discussing technology that ancient people had. The text is highlighted by pictures that enhance many of this statements he makes. The author does a great job of taking information from a variety of sources to prove his points and clarify his writing. My two complaints are that some of the pictures are so small that they are frustrating because you can't see much of the detail. Second, the assumption is made that you know about many of the places in this book and I don't. I had never heard of many of these places until reading this book. I would have appreciated a few maps to help clarify where some of these places are. Great book. Very interesting. Enjoy. Review: This book will make you think ... you'll be amazed - This book proves we really are living in the stone age right now compared to the things these people did that cannot be replicated today. It makes you think ... I hope we are not alone and God didn't waste all his time on modern man ...

A vast wealth of knowledge towards questioning ancient technology
Technology of the Gods is a book that I feel everyone should pick up and read just once. While this is not a book about romance or action or suspense there is a real mystery at hand here. Exactly how smart were our ancient ancestors, and do we even fully understand our own past? This book attempts to answer such questions by presenting various blocks of scientific information gathered up from research done by a large variety of experts, as well as multiple sources of printed material. Each of the 8 chapters this book has contains a wealth of knowledge that will leave you wanting more. However this book has both pros and cons to it and is not perfect by any means. While the negatives to the book are not all that bad, going in blind might leave a harsh taste at first. * This book has 8 chapters which divides the ancient science and technologies up into categories. Megaliths, Machinery, Electricity, Flight, Atomic Warefare are 5 of the major chapters in this book. What threw me for a loop initially is this book does not read like a normal book might. Instead I felt as if I had just picked up a college textbook as each paragraph was just exploding with research data, measurements, gear designs etc. The material is fascinating however, and one could easily become glued to the pages wanting to read more! While the book comes across a bit like a college textbook, I did enjoy how each chapter was broken down. It allows readers having trouble digesting all the information to take breaks. Each chapter is broken up into "topics". For example the Author might bring up THE OSIRIAN CIVILIZATION (which is 4 pages long) filled with facts and interpretations. After that topic there is a whole new section "Ba'ALBEK and OSIRIS" this allows you to simply mark your progress and continue on a new topic at a later time. So while it is very heavy reading, there are many opportunities to take a break w/o losing the flow of the book. * Another problem I had with the book, while minor, could of made for better flow. Each chapter and its topics goes into great detail to describe and explain the technology, but all the pictures are at the END of the chapter. It would of been much more helpful to insert the images with the topic because the reader could follow along with the description, adding to the WOW factor. While this book has some issues, it is a must read for anyone into ancient civilization, ancient technology, ancient astronaut theory or simply someone wanting to see a different view on ancient culture. The book can be a tough read at times due to the technical nature of the material, but the author did a good job breaking it into small sectional topics so you could have plenty of opportunity for breaks. The material is quite fascinating and the author provides 164 different sources for the material found in the book, which opens up new doors for the reader to explore the material further if he/she chooses ** I give this book 4 stars. A solid read that will present you with some mind blowing evidence and concepts. A book that introduces the reader to the possibility that we might have misunderstood ancient civilizations. While the material is solid the few flaws this book has (Better organization of the pictures/material and can be very "textbook" like at times) holds it back from being a 5 star book. Still a must read book!

I love this book
I love this book! David Childress is an Indiana-Jones type character, who travels the world exploring and finding interesting information that we would not normally find ourselves. How about ancient atomic wars that devastated and wiped out people? What? You mean that before 1945, there was other civilizations on planet Earth that had this same atomic knowledge? YES. It seems abundantly clear that this is what happened in the deep past. And when we do not remember our history, we will find that we just may repeat it. This concept of "repeating the past we have forgotten about" fits in with the writings of Joe Scogna, such as The Threat of the Poison Reign and SAF Simplified, both books from Amazon. Childress details the incredible scientific knowledge of ancient peoples as you have not read these before. Excellent book!

Dommage que l'édition ne soit pas très soignée, les illustations sont vieillotes et de piètre qualité. Le contenu est présenté de façon claire et nuancée. Je recommande

David Childress is a well-known archaeologist, author and TV presenter, notably in recent years on "Ancient Aliens". In this book he covers a wide range of discoveries of ancient artefacts which appeared to use high technology, inexplicable in terms of what we believe to be the case all those thousands of years ago. An outstanding example is the reference in ancient stories which tell of wars in which weapons of mass destruction were used. Until recently these stories were treated as myths or legends, but modern investigations have uncovered evidence of radioactive fallout which seems to point to nuclear technology. Mohenjo Daro is a good case in point, and there are many similar cases in India and Pakistan. For me, this kind of book is especially enjoyable because you can dip into it at any point and look up cases of special interest, without starting at Page 1. If this genre appeals to you, it's a must-read.

Black and white pictures in the book are not that clear and shame they didn’t use colour illustrations.
