## Description

The POE-SW502 is an unmanaged 6-Port Power over Ethernet Switch with a total of 60 watts of PoE power. All ports run at 10/100Mbps and can provide up to 30W per port through the IEEE 802. 3at standard, as well as up to 60W on port 1 through Hi-PoE. It has two Ethernet uplink ports to allow for communication without sacrificing any PoE ports. It also features an “extend” switch to allow for PoE transmission of up to 820ft (which reduces data transmission to 10Mbps). Specifications: Ports: 2*10/100Mbps Uplink ports, 4*10/100 Mbps PoE ports PoE Power: Port 1 ≤60W, Port 2-4 ≤30W, Tota l≤60W PoE Protocol: IEEE802. 3af (PoE), IEEE802. 3at (PoE+), Hi-PoE Switching Capabity: 1. 8G Packet Forwarding Rate: 890kpps Packet Buffer Memory: 768Kb MAC Table Size: 2K Flow Control: Enabled Humidity: 10 – 90% Power: DC48-57V Lightning Protection: Common Mode 2KV; Differential Mode 0. 5KV Operating Temperature: 14F – 131F (-10C – 55C) Weight: 0. 66lb (300g) Dimensions (W x D x H): 5. 12in x 3. 35in x 1. 02in (130mm x 85mm x 26mm)All products sold by PoE Depot come with a 100% Satisfaction – we offer a 30-day money-back , as well as a 1 year that covers replacement for free.

Review: No worries - No issues, works exactly as I expected.
Review: Use with Ring Stick-up Cameras, and life is good! - I looked at many PoE injectors, and decided for $34 this is the best option. I initially purchased just one PoE camera, but this switch allows me to add three more by simply running the ethernet cable. What more could you ask for? This switch has a PoE+ port on the first plug, and all four plugs will run at PoE standard power levels. If you need PoE+ you probably cannot use all four, it will limit you to one or two more standard PoE plugs, because it has a maximum power output. There is a switch for Default, and Extended. If you need to run longer than 300 feet you can switch to extended, it will reduce the bandwidth of the PoE ports to 10Mbps, and increase the power, so that it can run longer cables safely. I don't recommend this, just try to use the 300 feet limit, and the default setting and you will be fine. If you have to go longer, I suggest you but another of these, or an individual injector. Then, use 300 feet cable segments with switch/hubs to reach you destination at full speed. My house is all 1000Mbps ethernet. I connect the PoE switch to one of the ports and it runs at 100Mbps with the switch. There are two uplink ports on the switch, not sure why you need it, but you could connect two networks to this, if you so desired. If you are buying a single camera, I suggest skipping the single PoE injectors and getting this. You then have the option of adding three more cameras without needing another injector. The 100Mbps is more than enough bandwidth for the cameras, they usually need about 2Mbps each. Most single injectors are $19. This is $34 and gives you 4 standard PoE injectors with one optionally running PoE+. This is a great deal, and a good choice. Be smart and plan ahead, that is what I did. I just ordered additional cameras today, and I am very glad I purchased this, because I don't need to get more injectors, just need the camera and ethernet cables to hook it up.

- Extend function extending max PoE transmission distance from 100 meters to 250 meters
- PD detection will automatically detect and provide required power for your PoE devices **Note: Do not support passive PoE device**

## Questions & Answers

**Q: It says poe+ (24w) but 60w total / 4 = only 15w per port so is this not full poe+ to all ports?**
A: By the tech specs on the manufacturers web site, all 4 ports are PoE+ (802.3at). You are simply constrained by the overall PoE power budget of 60W total. This is not misleading by the manufacturer or seller. Even Cisco corporate 48-port PoE switches that cost signaficantly north of $10,000 are sold as 48-port PoE+ switches with a power budget of 485W. This just means that you can't use all 4 ports for PoE+ simultaneously due to the power budget. Very standard at all levels of networking.

**Q: Is there a safety feature where it won't provide the power to the ethernet cable if the device is too large? like a pc?**
A: Yes.
It will not have POE unless it is required by the device. It will not push power to a laptop or computer if not needed.

**Q: Does not seem to support "passive" poe. is this correct? please mention this in the description.**
A: Passive POE is the exception, not the rule. If a switch is industry-standard 802.3af or 802.3at compliant, it will not support passive POE. This is true for pretty much any/every POE switch you can find: you will not see support for passive POE. Perhaps the only exception I can think of is the Mikrotik PowerBox, and their documentation clearly states that they support passive POE (and not industry standards like 802.3af or 802.3at).

**Q: Is the uplink port 100 mbps or 1000mbps? thanks!**
A: The description shows it at 10 / 100
