How is this meant to be squirrel proof??

I'm struggling to work that one out too, unless they mean because it's clear plastic not a grid surface they can't get to the seeds. It wouldn't be easy for a squirrel to get seeds out of the feeder ports. It wasn't important to me because we don't have squirrels in our garden.

I bought this in green but the birds don’t seem interested in this feeder. Does anyone else have this oroblem

It takes a while for birds to get to know a feeder is there. I’m sorry to say birds aren’t always the brightest of creatures even though they have built in sat nav. It also depends too on what you are trying to feed the birds with. I find general bird food isn’t great because it’s stuffed full of stuff the birds don’t like to eat. Plus the birds will take it out and drop it all over the ground. The best success I’ve had is with sunflower hearts. Basically it’s sunflower seed without the outside shell on the seed. Don’t put out sunflower seed with the husks/shell on, because it will take a lot of the bird’s energy to take off the shell. The whole point in feeding the birds is to give them as much energy as possible to thrive, with less waste as possible. We had an oval bird feeder, it took our birds ages to get use to different shape feeders. To try and attract the birds add in differed types of feeders, like fat ball feeders, hanging water container the birds can use, plus a collection of different feeders. It can take a few weeks for the birds to come. Once they are established, you have a great responsibility to keep feeding them because they will use you as their main food source summer and winter. The adult birds will bring their chicks to the feeders and teach them to access food from them. Feeding birds is a commitment. Like looking after any animal once you start feeding it, they really become reliant on you. If your heart isn’t in it 110% and keep topping up the feeders every day or two, it’s not fair on the birds to forget them and not keeping their food score going. Also clean the feeders in hot soapy water and scrub them, rinse well. Unfortunately birds do carry different diseases which can be transmitted to other birds through dirty feeders. Look at the RSPB site online for information about wild birds and food information too.

I bought 2 to replace broken green ones - now No more birds is it because it’s red?

The birds did not come to ours. I think it was the red that scared them off. I got some green nail polish and painted it. The birds swarmed the bird feeder. Over time the green changed to gold. We are now going through one bag of food a week. :-)
