**Q: What is rubberwood? Is this real wood? Is it mdf?**
A: It looks like  REAL wood and appears very sturdy.  The chairs look good and we are very pleased with them. One of the chairs arrived with a loose seat so my husband replaced the screws with longer ones and it solved the problem.  All In all, the chairs appear to be well worth the cost.
