Some of Dr. Phil's descriptions and accounts of situations are quite stereotypically sounding "middle America" and at times he has a slight mansplaining/sexist tone which for a British woman who isn't concerned by another woman stealing my man I found amusing and distracting! The narrative of 'man-eater' style women is just...ehh. Old fashioned? I knock one star off for that it is only a small element and it still stands as a good book - it is a thought provoking read for a wider audience. I would and have recommended it to friends and family.Its the type of book I'd love to hand out to people who are experiencing a "baitor" situation or when someone keeps on the same loop of giving the benefit of the doubt and getting burnt. If you are a kind nice person who is always giving out and giving in to others then this is a MUST read or if you work in a back stabbing office environment this would also need to be a must read.Like some of the other reviews I found the first half more interesting then the second.I won't be living to an exact Life Code but I do stop and wonder in situations now whether or not I should be giving the benefit of the doubt and assess situations with a more confident and critical eye and it has also made me more aware of the difference between friends and work colleagues. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Insightful *by M***S on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 26 September 2014* Really helps you see life as it is. Sometimes you know that not all of us are the same, and not all of us think the same way. But you put those thoughts aside and you think 'well, we are all people'. But the truth is there are people who think differently to you, and would do anything within their means to get what they want. This book enables you to identify what those character traits are, and how you could utilize them in your own life. But also how to stay away from those who utilize them in the wrong way. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Interesting *by L***Z on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 11 March 2013* I liked the first part of the book as I found it very educational. It was very interesting to understand how these people think, it is so different as how I think that it has been an eye opener. I did not find it vey useful the second part as I am not prepared to do all what he suggests as I find it not very realistic, very difficult to do and I am not very sure that very healthy or uselful.
