Zyxel 24-Port Gigabit Switch | Smart Managed | Rackmount | Fanless | VLAN, IGMP, QoS | Network Ethernet Hub [GS1900-24]

I bought two of these and making use of LACP between them on the fibre ports. I’ve not finished my nebula 30 day trial so not sure what I will be left with after then, hoping something as I can’t afford to keep the enhanced license going. One gotcha I found was that the copper ports look to be 100/1000/2500 and don’t seem to be able to negotiate 10Mbps which is the speed my hive home hub is negotiating with my Cisco switch anyway…. This could be a possible reason people may find problems when connecting old iot type devices.. I bought the none PoE and the PoE variant. My kit is only drawing 7watts from the PoE (nebula tells me so) so not pushing it anywhere near its limit. The switches seem to be working well with an older series of NETGEAR wireless mesh for wired back haul after some reconfiguration. Really impressed with these units so far, build quality and features are exactly what I needed. I’m not using 2.5Gbps copper yet but hopefully will at some point. Nice work Zyxel, way better than a media converter solution I was considering…

Works fine with Asus router. VLANs for the trunk port need to have all VLANs added, which may be the way they work, but not obvious for a managed switch noobie.

Excellent switch. Has enterprise capabilities and is FAST :-) Out performs an expensive HP switch that I had in place previously.

Excellent small switch, especially if you’re already using Zyxel Nebula. I paired this GS1915-8 with my main Zyxel XMG switch and managed everything centrally through Nebula. At that point I was already familiar with Nebula (after setting up the main switch and Wi-Fi AP), and configuring ports for different VLANs on this was genuinely straightforward - quick, consistent, and easy to change later. It replaced a “simpler” Netgear web-managed switch that I was constantly fighting to get VLANs configured correctly. This has been the opposite experience: once adopted into Nebula, it just behaves the way you expect and has been completely reliable.

Conception robuste, administration intuitive. Possibilité de choisir quel firmware utiliser (permet de revenir à un firmware fonctionnel en cas de bug). Possibilité de gérer deux configurations en parallèle (idéal avec fonctionnalité ci-dessus). Ce qui est inhabituel, c'est que les paramètres ne sont pas sauvegardés automatiquement. On peut les appliquer, voir comment fonctionne le réseau et si vraiment tout est "planté", il suffit de redémarrer le switch qui reviendra à la configuration par défaut. Si en revanche vous êtes satisfaits de votre configuration, vous pouvez la sauvegarder et la paramétrer comme configuration par défaut en cas de redémarrage. Une fois que l'on sait ça, c'est un vrai plaisir.

I have been using several GS-1900 series switches for many years. One of them was having intermittent failures and the GS-1920 24 was the replacement. I was surprised how much the switches had changed. The GS-1920 24 is actually a 28 port switch with the last 4 ports shared copper or GBIC. The software is quite complex. I would say it's almost a full L3 switch with routing and IP or port defined vLANs. It seems to cover every possible thing a switch can do with/to a L2 packet. As long as this holds up, it will be a great bargain at far less than $200.

It is a great product and works according to expectations.

Uso questo Zyxel GS1900-24E da un po’ di tempo e posso dire che è uno switch eccellente sotto ogni punto di vista. Le 24 porte Gigabit offrono connessioni rapide e stabili, perfette per gestire diversi dispositivi contemporaneamente senza alcun problema di rete. L’interfaccia di configurazione via web è molto intuitiva e permette di impostare facilmente funzioni come VLAN, QoS e controllo della banda. Inoltre, è silenzioso (nessuna ventola rumorosa) e consuma pochissimo, quindi ideale anche per piccoli uffici o ambienti domestici. Le spie LED frontali sono chiare e utili per verificare a colpo d’occhio lo stato delle connessioni. Finora non ho riscontrato nessun problema di stabilità: una volta configurato, funziona in modo impeccabile e costante. In sintesi, uno switch professionale di grande qualità, con ottime prestazioni e un prezzo molto competitivo. Consigliatissimo per chi cerca affidabilità e semplicità.
