I needed to extend the amount of USB ports I have on my computer but didn't want the aggravation and dealing with any more wires. It fit on my desk well and gave easy access to an SD card reader since I had put a storage expansion card into my MacBook Pro's SD slot.However, that's the best thing I can say about this hub. From day one, the external drives attached to it would randomly disconnect as if there isn't enough power in the hub to keep them running. And, then, just outside of my return window, the card reader on top stopped working. It does charge the phones and will read some of my smaller drives and SD cards intermittently. The products instructions were unreadable but is not listed on the Mfg's. website for support, I assume it is obsolete or discontinued because of poor design. I have not purchased any other iDsonix product in the past so I have no opinion on other products by this Mfg. which may work fine. But I would not recommend this product. I have not sent it back because my time is worth more than the $32.00 + shipping I paid for it.
