Q: Do I need an amp with this?

This is a powered subwoofer so it contains a subwoofer amp only. Right/left channel speakers will need their own power.

Q: Can I install this with factory radio or do I have to have an after market stereo?

Factory works or aftermarket. I installed it under the seat of a 2023 hyundai elantra, connected to rear speakers. Works flawless, wife is super happy with it.
