I paired with a larger matte black dinner plate and they look sooooo cool! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing! Very durable! *by S***E on July 13, 2016* When I saw these I was nervous about ordering them. They look gorgeous and unique but I feared they might be hard to care for. I lived a few years in Italy and these immediately reminded me of all the incredible dinner pieces and art they had. I don’t have any black dinnerware and figured these would be a great contrast to certain food.My biggest fear was them arriving broken. I don’t live far from a lot of fulfillment centers but I have received so may broken dishes. I don’t know if it is the carriers or packing. I am convinced it is both. I noticed these are selling in bulk on other sites for upscale restaurants. I pulled in my packages and forgot these were on one of them. I opened a box that was so well wrapped, it was the plates. It appears the manufacturer packs them with a ready to ship label and Amazon boxes them after that. My rating does not factor into the review since we are not supposed to rate the shipping but I have to say I was so pleased with how these are wrapped. Thick bubble wrap and they wrapped well.After I held them in my hands in amazement, I was amazed at the details! Cobblestone plates, who would have thought of that? I looked for imperfections but there were none to be found. I was shocked at how well they all looked. I decided to place them in the dishwasher. I was nervous. I usually wash delicate plates by hand but wanted to see if these held up to the claim of being dishwasher safe. They washed perfectly! Big relief right there, they have a nice weight to them. I felt like I was holding gorgeous jewelry and might break it. I then placed some food on the plate and tried it in the microwave, warmed up just fine.I decided to place these down for lunch plates. I had guests stopping by. I decided not to mention the plates, wanted to see their reactions. My guests were in awe! A lot of “wow” “gorgeous!” These can be used as lunch plates, dessert plates, or a small dinner plate if needed. I love presentation when serving so I tried to go for a contrast. I served a pasts dish with a lot of color vegetables which looked incredible. I feared my fork would scratch the surface, but it didn’t. I even tried to scratch it, it did not scratch. If you think that certain food might get stuck in the uneven surface of the plate, no the case.I guess I am easily amused because these plates are fascinating! I am glad there are six because I usually serve four. I have two that knowing my luck; I will break one somehow and be devastated. I know I can order more though. I was hesitant but so glad I ordered them. I have not seen anything like these before, although the TechnoCeram, which they are made of is, basically a form of vitrified or vitreous ceramic. That is used in any diner you walk into, and the reason it is so popular is that it is extremely durable. Although these plates are thinner than the china I just mentioned, they will be durable too, I expect.I look forward to using this set of 6 plates and daydreaming of collecting the dinner size in a different color, for fun! I would probably go for the brown!Why do I love dinner ware so much? Because I used to sell it as my summer job in New York City.
