I chose chicken broth because it is rich in type II collagen for cartilage.
I like this one because it is chicken and not beef. Beef broth often has slightly more type I and III collagen, while chicken broth is rich in type II collagen for cartilage and easily digestible. That's why I chose chicken broth. Great quality taste my dog loves. Great value for the money. It also smells good.

Helped Australian Cattle Dog with abnormal blood work
Consistently clean and well packaged quality item, delivered quickly. When added to water it produces a rich, deliciously smelling, extremely healthy drink. I use boiling water, then let it cool before serving. Fully Human grade product, which is very important to me- I won’t give pet grade products to my dogs. It is specifically left as just one ingredient for pets. (It’s important to use a bone broth product which is devoid of any onions or spices, as these can cause serious health problems in dogs). Kenji loves this product, and will often finish his meal once this bone broth is added. He is eight years old, and has been dealing with lifelong digestive issues. His blood work showed low phosphorus, even after being on high quality food, a balanced Veterinarian supplied vitamin, plus adding four phosphorus tablets daily for several months. His Veterinarian recommended adding one cup of bone broth daily to his diet. As a 36 pound dog, he gets the recommended one level tablespoon. I researched and found that the chicken bone broth has 3x as much phosphorus compared to the beef, so I went exclusively to the chicken version. Bone broth is also known to be excellent for digestion, joint support, and immune function. His recent blood work showed he is finally in the normal range! Yay!! Highly recommend!

Has to be boiled and prepared ahead of time.
I bought this because I thought it be more efficient than liquid broth. Unfortunately it just takes too much effort to prepare. I typically only give this to my cats with wet food, which I alternate with dry food. So I would either have too much broth leftover or I would forget to prepare it. The trouble is that it can’t be made with room temperature water. It’s hydrophobic and doesn’t mix at all. It gets everywhere and becomes this sticky gooey substance. My cats also hated it when I gave it as the powder. If you have the time or if your pet eats enough broth to justify this, it’d be a great option. I’ve only gone through half the container so far. But it requires me to wash a lot more dishes than I want to.

(
I bought this because my senior cat is pretty skinny and I wanted to increase his hydration while giving him some extra calories. Poor boy loved the taste but it did not love him back. He got so sick from this. So so sick. He was having horrible diarrhea for hours :( Because he’s so old it really affected him. He lost his appetite and dropped down to 6 lbs! I took him to the vet thinking it was kidney disease as he had declined so dramatically and so suddenly but his blood panel came back fine. They gave him a little kitty IV, some nausea meds, an appetite enhancer and some high calorie wet food and he seems to be on the up and up. From the rest of the reviews it seems like it may have been a fluke and maybe it just didn’t agree with him but I’d be very careful giving this to older pets.

Update
Must be mixed in shaker. Very potent. Made my cat sick. But will try again by reducing powder to water ratio. Update: My mistake; it was something else that caused my cat to vomit. I tried the powder again, using less powder than recommended. Car loved it. I mixed in a shaker bottle, using 1 T for 12 oz of hot water. Made a nice broth that I mixed with my cats kibble. She lapped it all up before even touching her food. I initially began using broth to help fill her tummy while reducing amount of kibble (vet recommended weight loss). My apologies to the manufacturer for inaccurately assuming it was their product that caused my cat to vomit. It’s actually a wonderful product, and very affordable in contrast to buying cartons of chicken broth. It’s also nearly impossible to find carton broths that do not have added onions and garlic - both no-nos for cats. Highly recommend!

Easy to add
All my 4 cats enjoyed the chicken. Easy to sprinkle on top although it can be hard/slow to dissolve in water. Chicken was preferred over beef. 1/4 cats was picky about the beef broth flavor, if it wasn't mixed in well. Also the beef smells strongly.

My cat won't touch it
Sadly not as tasty as expected. My cat won't touch it. I bought it to add to kidney food because he has trouble eating those, but this is of no help at all. He won't go near it, even if offered just as a broth. I don't like the smell either, fairly strong. I give it three stars since it does appear to be a good product, but unfortunate not good for us.

Spoiled Stubborn Brat
This spoiled, stubborn brat is my dog and I love him wholeheartedly. He is my everything and by far the best dog I've ever had. With that said, I do have a tendency to spoil him and this Chicken Bone Broth Powder is just another example of this. Does he need this broth? Absolutely not. Does he like the Bone Broth? Absolutely. Does he feel entitled to the Bone Broth? By his actions and the dirty looks he gives me, I would have to say yes. He likes it so much and is so stubborn that sometimes he won't eat his food unless I've added the broth to it. While his poor attitude is unfortunate, I will say I have noticed that he seems to be having more regularity and healthy bowel movements. He is healthy, smart, usually very affectionate and sweet, and really is man's best friend, however he just needs to be humbled and brought down off his high horse (we actually don't have any horses, that's just a saying people say). Maybe I'll slip him some other brands' inferior bone broth and see if he changes his tune. But with a face like that, how can I not just want to give him the very best.
