Great Pen for Reasonable Price
After being away from fountain pens for a long time I found this one on Amazon for $20. (It has gone up since I bought mine.) It is a very attractive, solid pen. The included converter allows you to use bottled ink. The fine nib makes a fairly delicate line but allows the ink to flow fast enough to keep up with my writing speed. Like any good fountain pen, it writes effortlessly, needing only the weight of the pen to apply pressure to the paper. It glides smoothly over the paper and leaves a very solid line. The pen came in an attractive presentation box and included six ink cartridges as well. I haven't used the cartridges, but I remember them as being a needlessly expensive way to buy ink. The converter has a threaded shaft which drives a piston up and down in the ink reservoir. That's an excellent design which should last a long time. I have a technical fountain pen that I acquired over 60 years ago which uses a similar mechanism and it still works perfectly. Old style fountain pens used a rubber sac for the ink reservoir. Inevitably the rubber dried out and the sac started to leak. The piston converter is a very superior design. The one flaw I found with this pen is the cap does not fit securely on the barrel when I'm writing. Most people who write with fountain pens like to store the cap on the back of the pen (called "posting") when they are writing. It balances the pen and keeps you from losing track of the cap. If the barrel were tapered just a little more the cap would fit better. The nib on this pen is not replaceable. If you want a different nib than the one that comes with the pen look for another pen. If you're looking for a well made, solid pen that writes comfortably this one is hard to beat. I use an old bottle of Sheaffer Skrip Jet Black ink with this pen. It's the same ink I've used for many years. It is very dark black, flows nicely, dries quickly, and does not clog any pen I've used it with. You might get different results with other inks, some of which dry much quicker.

Beautiful and a simply perfect pen!
I bought this pen to have something fun to write notes with in college. It works well, the ink does not bleed excessively through paper. The weight is nice when holding it in your hand. The design is elegant, professional, and well crafted. The case is very convent and it is nice to have ink cartridges with the product. Grip is comfortable and I haven't gotten cramps in my hand yet. The pen allows the ink to easily flow out and keep of with quick writing. Instructions are clear can concise in the use of the pen especially if you don't know what on earth a converter is. I am very happy to also have the converter. I got a cartridge that is incompatible a while ago and I was able to drain the cartage and get the ink into the converter and put the ink to use without disposing the ink in the garbage or returning the product.

Very satisfied - smooth, even writing, good price, good looking pen - quality feel.
The first box I received was damaged on the outside but the Pen Presentation Box was fine inside - the problem was there were no contents - none. No pen, converter, or ink. Amazon quickly sent another with apologies. The second pen arrived quickly and was complete. There was slight damage/creasing to the outer box but the Presentation Box was perfect. Pen is beautiful and has been flawless over the first few days. I carry the pen in my shirt pocket. It has a strong clip and no leaking/dripping of any kind. I cannot imagine a better Pen Set for the money (note: I bought while there was a $10 coupon offer). I will add a writing sample when I have proper paper and desk, so my writing is presentable. Block printing can leave enough ink to smear if not allowed a few seconds before handling. All writing has been very smooth, no skips. I am a 'beginner' fountain pen enthusiast but have no issues when writing. inverted worked like a finer tip and still could write skip free. Recommended. Converter has not been used yet but functions smooth & has a double seal not seen on higher priced pens I considered. Will try to update review once it has been tried.

Decent pen, I love the B on the crown reminds me of Bentley auto's.
Nice pen for the price, here are my Pro's and Con's: Pros: Nice looking fountain pen Not that expensive if you happened to loose it. I tuned mine, the nib was off slightly. Only writes better with the least enough of hand pressure. Cons: Needed a slight nib tuning which I used a microscope and fine grit pen sandpaper. To insert the cartridge I needed lots of force, but I heard the click and that did it. Way to much force. Somewhat scrathy horizontal, less scratchy on the vertical strokes. The nib, which is a fine nib, pust down more ink than necessary. No O-rings used, hopefully the pen won't leak on me. The Nib is very flexible, so on the horizontal strokes that's where I feel the scratchy feedback on copy paper. Squeaky barrel when you go to twist the top and bottom sections together. Bottom Line: I'll keep it, good price but not the best smooth nib out of the box.

Impressive quality
This is the first fountain pen I have owned in a long time, and I must say, so far I'm very impressed. First off, this pen comes in a very nice leather (not sure if it's natural leather or artificial) stitched case, with a soft velvety interior, complete with a box of 6 ink cartridges, an ink converter (refillable ink tank), a clear user instructions card, and a service department contact card if you should ever need it. What really struck me next, was the absolutely beautiful, deep Royal Blue color of this pen. The photos really don't do the rich color and shine justice. The pen has a very nice weight to it, but doesn't feel too heavy. Writing with this pen is simply a dream, the pen strokes are very light and allow for elegant writing, and it has a steady ink flow. However, this pen also allows you to write in clear and precise print. I will continue to use this pen for my weekly letters to my Love overseas, as well as my daily work, and if needed, I will update this review after extended use. So far, I would definitely recommend this Beirluner fountain pen!

I really like this pen.
This is the best beginner fountain pen that I've ever used. It's always smooth, does not leak everywhere, and always draws attention when I retrieve it from my bag. Great for writing and adds that aura professional flair afterglow. The ink cartridges are some of the biggest I've used with fountain pens, stacking more value and ease of use for this pen manufacturer.

Subdued elegance art a bargain price
Beautifully balanced, a nearly perfect writing instrument. If you enjoy the sensory experience of writing by hand, of controlling the formation of letters, words and watching their creation on the page as has the pen moves across the document, this pen offers fluid movement and perfect dispersion of ink that you will certainly appreciate. It’s a classically elegant pen, subtle, yet unmistakably an instrument of quality and excellence. And the price is less than $20, a rare bargain!

Great pen in spite of its price
Writes smoothly. Ink flows immediately. I love the way the cap and barrel fit together.
