I think it's gauze, but it applies so well on the skin and doesn't slip. I like to use these as a sheet mask on target areas, and then I swipe the remaining product on the rest of my face. These pads are hydrating, brightening, soothing, and have a subtle clean smell (can't really describe it, but it smells fresh and even a little herbal). Repeat customer here, this is a great product if you have troubled/textured skin. I also think it's perfect for either dry or oily skin. I have normal skin, and use these all the time and honestly prefer them to my more "exfoliating" or "peeling" toner pads.
