To cart or not to cart? That was the question?
I have a low budget, which is to say in this economy so do a lot of people. This is not the cheapest cart out their, but remember this is not a flea market or garage sale where you may get more tool cart for your money, I don't have that kind of time to check those options out. So for under $200.00 and free shipping and good reviews on construction put me in the buying mode for the shop. And I picked the Homak BK06022704 27- inch 2- Drawer tool cart. If I look past the shipping end, This is a great cart for a Lathe or Mill. Why? if don't use or have any of this equipment you would not know how tooling will start to pile up on your equipment making it unsafe and hard to find needed tools used to put out parts. I'm not new to these machines and keeping your equipment clear and safe from your operating equipment is the right way and safe way to work. So the Homak tool cart was a great fit for me. Bottom Line: Good gauge metal parts, easy to put together and Wow! sliding tops have heavy rubber pads and the 2 drawers have liners. Could cover the inside and bottom too. But most cart at this price Have no padding at all, So thanks for that Homak. I only down side to the sale, was it came in damaged. So Amazon is great on this end of the deal. Just make sure that Amazon is selling it and they fix you up on the replacement at no charge. Note: this will not happen if the product is not sold by Amazon, and you need to inform yourself on what your buying and the damaged return or defective items return policies are by a third party vender selling from Amazon market place. I lost $120.00 bucks this way, Shipping and Restocking fee on unused Item. Amazon is not in a spot to help you, they didn't sell it to you. So, any thing worth buying is worth checking all the details'. And if no details don't buy. You wouldn't buy a car just because the seller said" it ran last time I checked?" Would you? If you don't know ask someone you can trust. I also called Homak, Nice company and if you didn't buy this item from Amazon, Homak has great customer service. Safe informed shopping, Have Fun! Would be five Stars, repacking and returning over 60 pounds is still work in my book. UPDATE!!!UPDATE!!!!! READ ALL ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!! This is the last installment update of the replacement HOMAK TOOL CART. The replacement cart is here and I just love it. The Homak company has been like a good friend and has shown me they care about the customer after the sale. And really care about your input, good or bad to make their products better. I should note that people really need to contact the maker of the products they buy. If your going to review it on amazon, you should inform the maker if possible. They may not be looking for your product review on amazon. So tell them and try to help them make their product better. They will, If they care. Yes, HOMAK great product and super customer service has gained the fifth start!!!! Thanks again for reading and Have fun shopping.

Nice product, but arrived with mostly aesthetic damage.
The item arrived well packaged on a pallet with no apparent damage to the contents. The unit appears to very well made for my needs with heavy gauge metal, a very solid mounting system for the handle, and with heavy duty wheels. This would have been a 5 star review, but after opening and examining the chest it was easy to spot rather substantial damage. The damage will not affect the performance, but does substantially degrade the aesthetic, other than the fact that the bottom 2 drawers stick a bit. Both top, front corners were substantially mashed down, to the point where the top mat could not be removed without damage; obviously dropped or something dropped on it. Puzzling enough, the bottom, back corners had the same damage, but not as bad. The top front ridge, just over the key slot, was also creased/dented, and the back metal plate was bowed about 1/4". The chest had been badly mistreated, most likely before packaging since the pallet/crate showed no damage at all and was well secured. I suppose it could be a return item that had been damaged by the previous buyer. But clearly, one would expect better from an item costing $600.

Great, Handy Tool Cart
Like D. Adamec, I was looking for a tool cart for my bicycle tools. When I compare our reviews, I'm mostly confirming what he has said. I have a growing collection of bike specific and other tools and in my small apartment I'm running out of space to put them. This cart is a great size for me, it's strong and was easy to put together with a screwdriver and a wrench. It would probably be helpful to have someone hold the top part while you bolt it to the legs (if working alone, just completely reverse the instruction book's order of operation: bolt the legs on the top part, then bolt them onto the cart body then add the wheels). The top was dented a little in shipping, but...it's a tool cart, I imagine I'm going to dent it a time or two more before I shuffle off this mortal coil, because it will plainly last for years. The drawers operate smoothly, the top panels are nice in the way they slide apart to expose an inner, large tool storage compartment. I'll probably cut some rubber mats to size for the lower shelf and the storage compartment. The build quality is higher than I expected, better than carts that I've considered locally at Home Depot and Lowe's that cost twice as much.

Great cart. Great price.
I was looking for a bicycle maintenance cart. I wanted something that would hold all my tools, lubes, cleaners and parts. It also needed to be portable so I could push it from bike to bike or in a corner whenever I needed the extra space. I looked at several toolboxes and tool carts and I thought this would be the best bet. The build quality is above average. It's not a snap-on by any means but it is far better quality that some of the boxes I've messed with in the stores. The drawers open smoothly but the lock is almost useless. This isn't a big deal to me. I like how the top opens and allows you to place parts on the open top while you work. I can foresee tons of uses for this box. I may have to get another for working on the cars. At this price you can't find a better cart.

Great design, but came damaged
This is a great design that is perfect for my needs, particularly the split top/work trays. The only point design-wise that made me raise an eyebrow is the relatively flimsy mounting base for the casters; I'm sure they'll do their rated job, but it seems certain that'll be the failure point if one of these gets overloaded. The reason for 4 stars is that the cart came fairly banged up. For something like this, I don't expect it to be flawless, but in addition to the numerous minor dents and one large one that actually cracked the paint (both of which I can live with), one of the top slide-outs had been hit hard enough to not only leave a dent but force the outer rail mechanism past the inner one's bump stop, effectively jamming the whole thing. I had to force it open, then bend the stops back into place. This seems to have fixed it, though some apparently nonessential plastic parts had broken off in the initial impact. I would have returned it, and I'm sure Amazon would have been accommodating as usual, but it's only a little worse for the wear and I'd rather save myself and my UPS guy the trouble. It might also be helpful to note that I don't believe any of the damage I saw on the cart was a result of shipping; while I'm no expert, the box was in good condition and the cart was spaced away from the side of the box with styrofoam, also in good condition. I can't imagine how some of the dents could have gotten there without puncturing the box; some could conceivably have transferred through the styrofoam, but others only had some inches of air between them and the undamaged outer box.

Excellent toolbox
Assembly was quick, took me about half an hour without a helper. Construction is sturdy and it fit in the back of my Wrangler with ease. Casters roll smoothly and it holds a lot of tools. Perfect as a wheel around cart for working on a vehicle. Finish is holding up well and its quite handy. If you are trying to cram all of your tools in a homer box or other small toolbox, its worth the upgrade. Save the toolbox for when you need to go far away from your tool cart.

It is well made and the drawers are very nice. If the top drawers were both a quarter ...
The toolbox I would really give 5 stars. It is well made and the drawers are very nice. If the top drawers were both a quarter inch shorter and the bottom drawer a half inch higher it would have been perfect for me. That said, I could not find anything else that fit that requirement for the price. I use this on my workbench for small tools and like having the top area to set equipment on. I have two reasons for the four stars. 1) The top mat that came with the toolbox STINKS, and I mean stinks really bad. I have tried washing it with 409, Simple Green and Vinegar and have so far left it outside for 3 weeks and it still smells really bad. I could not stand to be within 4 or 5 feet of it when it was on top of the box. I am going to try to contact Homak to see if they will provide a replacement. 2) The locking of the drawers works like crap. I get one or two to lock by leaving one or two open, but with all three, it will not lock. I have to assume that something was bent in shipping. I don't use the lock though and have not taken time to remove the drawers to see if something was bent.

Low Quality, overpriced. Watch out!
No, not even close to "professional". This is a lower tier product which manufacturers brand with their own logo. Exactly what I could have gotten for around 100.00 less locally, only with a different logo on it. Two guys in my shop have this exact thing with the Grainger branding. The drawer glides are even lighter duty than the box I'm replacing, which is totally inadequate. I chanced this because of the other reviews. Obviously, the other reviewers are either home hobby mechanics or the kind that rarely move their box further than a few feet a day. The drawer glides will shake out of this in less than 6 months, then I'll be right back where I started. Beware. Update: I got it to work and it turns out it is even smaller than the one I could have had, and the wheels are laughable hollow plastic crap. I'm so dissapointed I'm taking it back home. I'll just buy new drawer glides for my old beater. Learned a real lesson here. P.S. I have had this on Craigslist for 200.00 just to recoup some of my cash. Not one taker.
