Live Kefir Grains Starter Culture for Homemade Milk, Bulgaros de Leche, Pajaritos de Leche (1 TBSP)

This was my first time making kefir, and these milk kefir grains worked perfectly. They arrived alive, fresh, and healthy. I activated them and within one week my kefir was ready to drink. The grains grew fast and the kefir came out thick, creamy, and delicious. After drinking it daily, I feel less bloated, my digestion improved, and I have more energy. I highly recommend these kefir grains, especially if you are a beginner like me.

Have been having fun with my kefir grains. It arrived in a package that had been vacuum sealed. When I opened the little container, the grain smells really great! Must have been from great quality dairy. I used grass fed milk/regular organic milk/reduced fat/full fat to make kefir (all very successful), I never got the same aroma of the grain so that’s why I said the dairy used for these grains had to be superb quality! Only wish was that the grains were bigger size. They are a bit small so it was a challenge as a beginner to filter them and not lose them at first but I think I got it. Hopefully mine will grow big. They are my babies now

The grains arrived already very weak and after many days they were getting fewer rather than multiplying. The kefir is thin, bitter and uneateble.

This may be a premature review, and if so, I will update. Followed the instructions to a "T" After allowing the Kefir grains to culture for 24 hours when I strained as instructed, what I found in the bottom of the jar was a gooey slime. Again, following instructions I threw away the milk, cleaned the jar, got as much slime out of the strainer as I could and feed it more milk. I should add, the slime was very difficult to get out of the strainer, it was like two tablespoons of Elmer's Glue. I really hope that this works after a time or two of trying but I have my doubts due to the consistency of the grains; I HATE feeling ripped off! UPDATE: Batch #2 came out fine. I was too hasty; the Elmer's glue look that the grains took on at first made me think they didn't work, but they woke up!! Here's to health ;-)

Im very impressed with my culture. It came back to life right away. I discarded the first batch as suggested and it’s been going pretty strong since. I’ve had it for a month now. Thank you!

The amount was tiny tiny. But algo the bulgaros were tiny. It’s been couple of months, they have grown to double in size. The yogurt type keifer is as I remember. So love it. I’m happy with these little bugs.
