I really appreciate the very thorough, transparent label! Imported by- with address & phone# Manufactured by- with company name Made in India Packed/Marketed by- with address and a Questions/Feedback PHONE NUMBER ! website and email Batch No.- provided Packing Date-provided Expiration Date: 5/1/2026 COSMETIC GRADE If your here, you probably already know about BHT. For those who don't, BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene) is a synthetic antioxidant & preservative that extends a product's shelf life. Food Grade BHT is commonly used in; Baked products/Shortening, Vegetable oils & Margarins, Processed meats, Nut products, Canned foods, Chewing gum, Potato chips, Instant noodles and other foods. It's also commonly used in Skincare & Cosmetics. There's other industrial & pharmaceutical uses for it also. As a hobby, for family use, I make handmade soap; from old school soap like our relatives used to make back in the day from the most basic of ingredients to more luxurious ingredients, lightly fragranced & eye appealing colorful designs. The majority of the ingredients I use are of safer, food grade quality as I try to create my soaps using natural ingredients other than a small % of mica colorants & light amounts of man-made fragrance. I stay away from common additives found in commercial soaps however... Handmade soap without chemical additives at times can be prone to oxidation and a dreaded orange discoloration. A long-cured soap (air dries & hardens) can take many months before this discoloration may appear. What a huge disappointment it is if and when it does show up! A waste of pricey ingredients, a couple days of work & months long awaiting. Hence, my hoping a small amount of BHT will help. Any soapers here? I'm going to experiment with 6 batches, 2 using fragile, easily oxidized ingredients and 4 batches using my all the same sources/ingredients from my typical recipe. 2 with the recommended & safe suggested amounts of BHT and 2 batches preferably adding 1/2 of the suggested & safe levels of BHT. I'll combine this with my natural sources of antioxidants/preservatives that I already use in every batch that definitely have made great improvements from my first several inexperienced batches about 4 years ago. >> It'll take months to find out the results. If I remember, lol and I find this brand of BHT improves my batches, I'll certainly come back to share & raise my stars. >>> Meanwhile, I appreciate receiving this product with a very thorough, transparent label including a phone number, website & email if a consumer has any concerns. Not to mention this product has a reasonable price. For the label alone, I'm giving this product 5 stars. Suggestion: Since it's a crystalized powder I'll take extra care to seal the original bag in a Ziploc to lessen humidity degrading the product's effectiveness. (I've learned the hard way with some expensive powder ingredients!)

I bought this to make a muzzleloader bore lube that will not go rancid. I mixed the BHT in at about 1% by weight - 10 or more times what is needed - because this product will not touch skin. The crystals dissolve into my bore butter readily after I heated it on the stove gently. I cannot complain. This is a synthetic antioxidant that should keep the tins of bore lube I made stable for a decade or more.

The product says "powder", but it is not powder. It's large crystals, about the size of large sugar crystals. I bought to use to preserve homemade body oils/body butters, but it's not suitable, since it would be chunks of crystals in the body oil. When I went to return it, it said "not eligible for return".

An interesting product. Lots of uses. Read the cautions before use. I'm always skeptical of health/cosmetic/consumable/chemical products from southeast Asia. There are a lot of totally unverifiable products generically drop shipped. This is very well labeled. Packaging, Expiry and Batch dates, mfg address, email, and even phone number. Website of the private label mfg inspires product confidence. I would prefer the expiry and batch info be stamped separately, and not printed with the label, but this product has a long shelf life, so it's understandable. There is a barcode label stuck on, but I suspect that's from the vendor. This looks reliably what it claims to be at a fair price.
