The Braun Series 9 PRO+ is an exceptional electric shaver. The 5 shaving elements provide an incredibly close shave with minimal irritation. Worth every penny for the performance and comfort it delivers.

Expensive as all hell but worth it if you can afford it. I used to use an electric razor in the $100 range, and it was fine. It didn’t clean my scalp down to razor smooth, and it would take at least 5 minutes. And if I let it grow for more than a day, I’d have to use a razor to clear the stubble. This thing is fast (under 2 mins to shave head and trim beard), it gives a shave as close as a razor, and it can handle a few days worth of growth if I’m lazy. It’s also way easier to clean.

I am very pleased with this razor. I’ve retired so I am not shaving each day. This was a major pain with my previous razor, but the Braun takes care of up to 5 days growth with no extra effort. I do like the cleaning station. Since I am shaving only once or twice a week, I remove and seal the cleaning cartridge between shaves. It works well and avoids me washing the head and drying it by hand. My rating would have been a 5, except for my disappointment in the “manual”. It is all pictorial instructions. For many, I can’t determine what they are trying to tell me. See for yourself. The manual is online. I’ve had to watch a lot of YouTube videos and read a lot of threads to make sure I’m not doing something wrong (e.g removing the foil and washing the blades and foils. I’m still not sure how I should dry it before putting it away, It does seem that I can’t use the charging station for drying like I did with my older Panasonic.

I had a Series 9 and I’m sure the pro will work just as well. I haven’t used it yet but will over the next few days. It does seem to me a little lighter than the Series 9 I had before. The hefty weight made it feel a little more balanced and quality. I don’t see where the head changed at all so it should remove the hair just fine. The Series 9 was a close to using a wet razor as you could get so I’m hopeful this pro will do the same.

This is by far a great razor. Cuts close, long battery life and easy to maintain.

I had a Series 8 shaver for years and had replaced the head several times. I looked at a new head for the Series 8 but decided to replace the whole shaver instead, hoping that there were some technical updates that made the shave better. I was skeptical before use but not after. This shaver is the closest I’ve ever used to a blade. It’s phenomenal! For the first time I’ve used an electric shaver I don’t look back comparing it to what a blade will do. It’s every bit as close without the nicks and irritation and without worrying about any cuts. I love it. It’s well worth the jump from a Series 8.

Great product, but you really do have to give it time. I have heard previously that when you switched from a blade to an electric shaver, that I would be disappointed in the results. The company recommends give it six weeks, but for me it didn’t take that long. I’m on week four now, and I’m having a good shave. The only thing I didn’t like is the directions that are provided or unclear, because they are only pictures. They should provide directions with words as well, because the drawings were not clear.

Bought this to replace my old Series 7 which has given great service for many years. This shaver is much quieter and smoother in operation than the old series 7. The shave was closer, smoother than my old series 7 and did not catch/pull at all. I shaved my whole face (three days of growth) in a much shorter time than ever before with the old series 7. Well Done Braun! Also, neither the new cleaning station nor series 9 pro+ shaver leave any LEDs on after it has settled. More energy efficient and soothing to the eyes in a dark bathroom at night. (My old series 7 had a bright blue LED on all the time and lit up the bathroom at night.) A great improvement and well worth the price. Braun make very good quality equipment and it lasts for years.

Ce rasoir fonctionne vraiment bien, il coupe presque comme une lame, en douceur et sans irritation. De plus la batterie dure longtemps. Mais ce que j'aime le plus, c'est qu'il est fabriqué en Allemagne, ainsi que les têtes de rasoir. Alors, au moment de devoir changer la tête, je suis certain de ne pas me retrouver avec une "cochonnerie" de mauvaise qualité, fabriqué dans des pays où les standards sont faibles ou inexistans..!

Bought this to replace a Braun Series 7 which I have used for the past 10+ years but which was showing signs of wear and tear. I hesitated because 1. the Series 7 was still doing the job, and 2. the price in Canadian dollars for the Series 9 was prohibitive. Frankly I was greatly surprised at the improvement in performance I got with the Series 9. It produced a satisfactory shave in about half the time, and with noticeable increase in smoothness. I hadn’t expected this. The Series 9 is also quieter and takes a shorter time to go through a basic cleaning cycle. It feels lighter than the Seven and the build has more of a “plastic” feel to it. I doubt that it will last 10+ years. We shall see. Both models have a sideburn trimmer. The position on the Series 9 is better and involves a “sliding up” process rather that a “flip out” mechanism which requires a problematic spring. All in all, I’m glad I upgraded but I think that the Series 9 costs about C$100 too much, hence the loss of a star. JH Toronto
