5" Santoku Knife by Pigeon: Budget-Friendly but Needs TLC
This compact Santoku-style knife feels safer to use than traditional chef knives due to its non-pointy tip, making it beginner-friendly. However, the blade isn’t razor-sharp out of the box as it struggles with soft veggies like tomatoes or bell peppers unless you apply extra pressure. A sturdy bamboo cutting board is recommended, as harder surfaces reduce its effectiveness. For ₹159, it's a decent deal for light kitchen work, but expect to sharpen it a bit for better precision and safety, especially since dull blades tend to slip. Cleaning is simple with a sponge, just avoid metal scrubbers as the printed coating may wear off quickly. ✔️ Pros: Safe shape, easy to clean, budget-friendly ❌ Cons: Requires pressure, not very sharp, potential print fade

Good one
I recently bought the Pigeon kitchen knife and have been using it for a few weeks. The quality and grip are really good, and the knives feel comfortable to hold even when cutting for a long time. They are lightweight but sharp enough for daily use like chopping vegetables, fruits, and bread. The handle design gives a nice grip, so there’s no slipping even when my hands are wet. I also like that it’s easy to clean and doesn’t rust if dried properly. However, the paint or colour coating may fade a little after regular washing, so it’s better to wash gently with a soft sponge. Also, like any normal knife, it needs sharpening once in a while to keep the edge smooth. Overall, it’s a good, budget-friendly knife for home kitchens. Perfect for everyday use — just handle it with care and it will last longer. ⭐ Rating: 4 out of 5 ✔️ Good grip ✔️ Easy to use ✔️ Affordable ⚠️ Colour may fade with time ⚠️ Needs regular sharpening
